Just had Transmission crash with the following:

Mar 30 18:15:02 Tower kernel: transmission-da[9627]: segfault at 2e4434ef ip 08060bc3 sp b732bdd0 error 4 in transmission-daemon[8048000+68000]

I'm running the standard Version 1.6 of the plugin, with Transmission 2.76.

This occurred just after I'd deleted a torrent, and trashed data from the web interface.  Any thing that can be fixed?

Just had this happen as well... I looked and nobody answered before. Unraid GUI thinks it is still running, trying to stop it just make the settings page load indefinitely. Trying to stop via terminal it says no such process then flashing cursor like it is still trying to do something.  Can I resolve this without restarting the whole server?

I haven't ran into this issue and have been using transmission more lately. IF the GUI thinks transmission is still running and you can't stop it, run this:

rm -rf /var/run/transmission

Use with caution, if you type the wrong thing it WILL delete anything and everything from the path you insert on, so if you were to hit enter after typing "rm -rf /var/" it would delete everything in "var" and then the directory itself.

What I think is happening is since transmission is segfaulting it is not shutting down cleanly and removing the .pid file, which is what the plug-in looks for to know if it is running. Since the process is no longer running the plug-in gets stuck trying to stop it.

I'll mess with transmission more to see if I can get the segfault.

As for flexget, I'd go ahead and use the instructions posted by piotrasd, I'm not comfortable with how the partial plug-in I've created is running right now, too hit or miss.

That worked, it is now back up and running. Thanks!

What I did when it happened was I added some torrents and they started but started to a default path that didnt exist so I removed them, changed the default download path and readded one. This caused the GUI to give me an error saying it couldnt connect and to refresh the page and that is when the log showed the segfault and I was at the point I was. When I just restarted it a second ago the torrent I added was there with the new path but the default was still the old path. I changed that to the new path and added a 2nd torrent and it seems to work fine now. Hopefully that helps.

Thanks, I'll see if I can reproduce the error. It sounds like an issue with transmission though. If it is there is little I can do.

I will look at adding code to check if the pid exists and if not delete the file, atleast with that you won't need to use telnet to recover from the segfault, stopping/starting from the GUI will work.

Do you use my package PTr ? or other, and do you install some other packages with libs from other slackware example 13.37 or 14.0.

My transmission works mouths without any issue and errors, but i suppose your segfault happens because of some libs :/

(some other depends in your systems)

Hello, I have sabnzbd and SickBeard plugins installed on unraid 5.0-rc11. Both plugins are running fine.

It's the couchpotato plugin that makes problems. The plugin installed fine, CP starts, but gives errors just after loading the browser.

Any idea what could cause this error?

Thanks, I'll see if I can reproduce the error. It sounds like an issue with transmission though. If it is there is little I can do.

I will look at adding code to check if the pid exists and if not delete the file, atleast with that you won't need to use telnet to recover from the segfault, stopping/starting from the GUI will work.

it probably is a transmission issue, the install works flawlessly for me almost all the time, it was more a question how to restart it without restarting the array.

Question about the transmission plugin.

It seems to want to set every one of my downloads to 644 (CHMOD)

I need to change that default setting, my parent folder is already setup as 770 and I want the downloads to be 660, but I just can't seem to get it right

Link to comment

im install flexget with added 3 line to go ;) i dont know for why plugin is needed just add to go file:

curl https://raw.github.com/pypa/pip/master/contrib/get-pip.py | python

pip install flexget

pip install transmissionrpc

and is ready to working ;)

One depends is needed setuptools

this is for python 2.6 https://pypi.python.org/packages/2.6/s/setuptools/setuptools-0.6c11-py2.6.egg#md5=bfa92100bd772d5a213eedd356d64086

this is for python 2.7 (if somebody use like me)

https://pypi.python.org/packages/2.6/s/setuptools/setuptools-0.6c11-py2.6.egg#md5=bfa92100bd772d5a213eedd356d64086

best download to /boot/packages and add line to go before flexget

sh /boot/packages/setuptools-0.6c11-py2.6.egg

you can add also line to "go" for add cron task

example:

crontab -l > /tmp/flexget; echo '#Run Flexget every min 15' >> /tmp/flexget; echo '*/15 * * * * flexget --cron -c /boot/config.yml 1>/dev/null 2>&1' >>/tmp/flexget; crontab /tmp/flexget; rm /tmp/flexget

I'm sure that makes sense to someone but it confuses me.  What do I have to install and how ?  Can I make this end up in the /mnt/cache/apps/flexget folder ?  Transmission is already installed and running but I have no idea what version of pythin I am using.

pip install transmissionrpc
- is plugin of flexget for communication with transmission

for sure you use like others python 2.6 ;)

And more easy cannot be :/

You have to install in system "setuptools-0.6c11-py2.6.egg"

if already have

this 3 line

curl https://raw.github.com/pypa/pip/master/contrib/get-pip.py | python

pip install flexget

pip install transmissionrpc

install for you flexget with transmission support - that all.

Just you need put config file for flexget

I just got sab/sick/couchpotato all setup the other day now I'm getting an error in Couchpotato, it was working fine for a few days but now files dont get renamed and moved off the chache drive. Here is the error:

HELP!

I just tried installing these three plugins and everything was going fine. I used wget to download the .plg from Influencer's github and I then used installplg. They showed up in the webgui and i enabled them and set the correct data directory on my cache drive.

I then proceeded to restart my server and that is when it started to be unreachable. The webgui and the array did not start. I had my monitor connected and it just kept outputting

cat /var/run/smbd.pid No such file or direcory

Luckily, I was able to log in and from there I deleted the three plugins and their corresponding folders in the /boot/config/plugins folder

I restarted and now my server is up and running again, but I am still getting a couple /var/run/smbd.pid errors.

Can anyone help me to get rid of these error and then get Couchpotato, Sabnzbd, sickbeard up and running?

Update:

-------------

Forgot to include syslog. I deleted /boot/packages folder and restarted. This is that syslog. I am still getting multiple smdb error issue

syslog.pdf

How about a link in the OP to the original homepage for each app?

I ask because like me most people don't know what each application is or accomplishes.  For example I see a Gamez plugin is now available but I have no idea what Gamez is or if I'd want it...

When searching google closest thing I see is "Gamez Aion" which is a private server for the MMO Aion.

OK, I got Transmission up and running.  I got the "denied" error after starting a torrent and downloading ~4mb.  I saw that i need to edit my settings.json file, but when I try to open it in Mac Finder, it says I don't have permission.  How do I change the permissions on this file?

I've tried searching and everything I read, I don't really understand.

Edit: solved - just had to run the permissions script in the unraid settings section.

The last 3 lines of my settings.json are

    "watch-dir": "/mnt/cache/apps/Dropbox/Bin",
    "watch-dir-enabled": true
}

The exact folder to use is up to you but I think all of the other details need to be exactly like this with the quotes, colons, commas, etc. Of course, the path has to exist as well.

I've tried that but no luck - set it to a folder, Headphones stuck a file in there but not auto loading into Transmission. No idea why not (and why there isn't an option to set this path in the GUI?!?)

I have notice the performance issue.

If you have a "apps" on the cache drive as "Cache Only".

When you download something and it will store in \\TOWER\apps\sabnzbd\Downloads\complete\movies and then CouchPotato will move the folder to \\TOWER\Media share but it will re-copy back to cache drive so mover will move late tonight.

Any idea what to do?

When you download something and it will store in \\TOWER\apps\sabnzbd\Downloads\complete\movies and then CouchPotato will move the folder to \\TOWER\Media share but it will re-copy back to cache drive so mover will move late tonight.

Any idea what to do?

You have your apps share set to cache only; which is needed to keep the mover from moving apps to the parity protected array. All good there.

However, it looks like you have your media share set to use the cache drive... not as cache only, but as an initial storage location. This is also how I have mine set as it keeps my parity protected array spun down most of the time (except for when I watch something from the array or the mover activates once a night).

If you want your movies to immediately go to the parity protected array of your media share, you can change your share settings for just the media share. To do this, go to the web settings page for your user shares (http://TOWER/Shares) then click the link for your media share. Currently your setting for "Use cache disk:" is set to "Yes" for this share... change it to "No" if you want your movies immediately moved to the parity protected array, bypassing the cache drive.

As I mentioned above, I prefer to have my parity protected array stay spun down as much as possible. Temporarily storing files on the cache drive & only spinning up the parity protected array once a night also saves some power. There is a slight risk that the cache drive could die causing whatever files are on it to need to be downloaded again.  (Side note: I have cron set to run backups of the apps & their settings. If my cache drive does die, I only lose downloads from the last 24 hours at most). What you are describing is not a performance issue, just a matter of settings. Weigh the pros & cons of using the cache drive temporarily for your media share then set unRAID to behave the way you would like.
