squashem
Do we need this plugin to schedule a TRIM or is this now built into UnRaid? Searching google for information about this gives me conflicting results. And is TRIM required in the first place .. for SSD cache? Quote Link to comment
Squid
Yes you need the plugin. And yes, trim is required for SSD's. Many, many articles about the benefits of trim on the internet Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
It's not required but it's highly recommended, no trim without it. Quote Link to comment
squashem
Is it okay to run the TRIM plugin once everyday? Quote Link to comment
fersal
I've never ran Trim on my SSD cache, so I installed the Dynamix SSD Trim plugin. However when I go to the Apps tab, the "Settings" button in disabled. How do I run it? Can I run it manually, and if so, do I need to stop the array first? Videodr0me
Are you guys absolutely sure that a scheduled ssd trim is still necessary on an BRTFS formatted cache ssd with 6.3.3 ? I ask because there are some errors in my log after such a trim operation on a brtfs cache drive. Maybe it is not even safe to use the ssd trim plugin on such a drive? Quote Link to comment

Twisted
Does this work if your cache drive is an M.2 drive with an XFS file system? or do you have to run BTRFS? I only have one drive, so I set it up as XFS. Quote Link to comment

xrqp
It is 2021. Do we still need Dynamix TRIM for SSD's? Quote Link to comment

SPOautos
Is the SSD trim needed for a NVME cache drive? I wasn't sure if a NVME works the same as a SSD....but I suppose it is a type of SSD. Edited March 1, 2021 by SPOautos Quote Link to comment

Should we be updating our existing cache pools to use this new feature in place of the SSD TRIM plugin? Not sure if this was available in beta/RC for others to chime in. Quote Link to comment

Would this allow us to connect SSDs to a HBA Controller that doesn't support TRIM now? Quote Link to comment
