These messages tells you that the server is running fine. ;)

I answered almost every single question in terms for Palworld on the last five pages (starting at the very bottom of page 365).

Please read these pages first if you have questions.

Please also note that the server list is completely borked currently and the Epic servers can't keep up with 1.3 Million servers.

Here are instructions on how to set up a non community server and how to direct connect:

No because how should I do that?

This is something the develops have to fix…

Also a bit more details on your specific container/setup would be nice.

How many players are on your server, for how long is it running and so on.

EDIT: There are currently six players on my server and it consumes about 11GB which seems fine to me for that player count, if it is empty it hovers around 2GB and 3GB.

Thanks, currently my server has 4 players, and after running for approximately 1-2 hours, it consumes the entire 16GB of memory and then crashes. However, from some instructions of other users using the PC server, I've seen that using a scheduled memory cleaning program called 'men reduct' can significantly slow down the speed of game crashes. So I would like to inquire whether it's possible to add a similar processing program to the Palworld Docker container?

Sorry but I can't reproduce this at all, the server is running now almost 6 hours. However it could be possible that there's a memory leak but I would strongly recommend that you report that to the developers.

BTW 16GB for a server with game servers on it is really not much... Most game server consume about 1-2GB per connected player, for example ARK in the early days consumed the whole time about 8GB of RAM and on top for each player about 1-2GB of RAM.

Sorry but I won't implement something like that into the container because that's really risky since you can cause corrupt save files and other funky behavior, again please report that to the developers.

On what hardware do your run the server, it could be also possible that your CPU can't keep up and one leads to the other and you consume more RAM than usual.

It would be possible but that's a really hacky workaround and not a solution to a problem which the developers should fix.

I won't implement that because of the above reasons.

OK,thanks😥

Keep in mind the "solution" that you are asking for is not a solution, it's a workaround a pretty hacky one too and as said I would not like to risk the savegames from users from my container.

You should really contact the developers.

However, you still haven't said what hardware are you using.

Is there something wrong with the satisfactory image? I don't think it's downloading the game files properly or something:

Okay, this should do the job just fine.

I'm not entirely sure what is going on on your system since I'm using a Intel i5-10600, are you sure that you have a fast enough SSD where the game files are on?

Is there something wrong with the satisfactory image?

Nope, it is just working fine.

You are using TrueNAS correct?

I'm not sure if you have to do a chmod again on your directory where you actually download the game files.

Is this a new installation or a existing one?

Are files in the actual directory or not?

Please note that the ENV variables also contains the UID and GID which are by default 99 and 100 which maybe are not matching your UID and GID.

Okay, this should do the job just fine.

I'm not entirely sure what is going on on your system since I'm using a Intel i5-10600, are you sure that you have a fast enough SSD where the game files are on?

The game data is stored in a Samsung 970 on an M.2 interface, Initially, the server ran normally for an entire day, but I’m unsure what happened to cause abnormal memory usage. Now, when I start the container, it consumes all memory within 1-2 hours until the container crashes. I really don’t want to delete the save and start over. Therefore, I’m currently restarting the container every hour to continue playing.

I'm just getting the following and I'm not sure why. Any ideas?

Please report that in the community forums on Steam, in the official Discord and also with the Report Bug button in game.

Can you give me a bit more details, on what hardware do you run the container.

Do you run the container on Unraid? If yes what version from Unraid are you running?

To what is the Game Files path set? If you are using /mnt/cache/appdata/... make sure that the files stay on the cache and are not moved to the Array by the Mover.

Hey thanks for the quick reply.

Why do you run the container privileged? Please disable that ASAP!

This is a huge security risk and I really don't know why most people enable it, with that you are granting practically everyone inside the container full control over the host.

You mean the appdata share? Please double check if it is not moved to the Array.

I had another user with the same issue and after recreating the container it was working.

Please remove the container, after that remove the folder for palworld that was created in your appdata directory and pull a fresh copy from the CA App (please let the container start fully for the first time and don't restart it unless it pulled down all game files and started the dedicated server for the first time).

Hey thanks. I actually enabled that as a test and didn't turn it off.

I've deleted and ceated the docker a few times and still no luck. Do I need to remove anything from /appdata/steamcmd ?

So I did rename the /appdata/steamcmd folder to /appdata/steamcmd_temp and it worked this time..

Yes I'm on freenas scale and this is a brand new installation. The only files in the directories are that of steamcmd, apparently it couldn't download the server files but can get steamcmd stuff just fine, at least according to the last message in the logs.

I also tried it again via docker on my windows 11 desktop (docker pull ich777/steamcmd:satisfactory) and have the same issue:

Not to contradict or repeat myself but I still think there might be something wrong with the image... or something?? Sorry, not sure and relatively novice with Docker however given that the same issue happens on freenas and windows I'm unsure on how to proceed! I also tried running steamcmd natively on windows and it grabbed the server files just fine- it's just the docker image that seems to be having these issues.

Thanks as usual for all your help ❤️

To what path are the Game Files set in the Docker template? If you are using /mnt/cache/appdata/... make sure that the appdata stays on the cache and is not moved over to the Array.

Do you have CA Backup installed and is it maybe running daily? Keep in mind that CA Backup usually stops the container when creating a backup.

Hello, I would like to know how to install the Palworld server from A to Z as I am not familiar with the terminal at all.

Are you on Unraid? If yes, simply go to the APPS tab, search for Palworld and install the container, that's it.

If you want to customize the server name you have to edit the config (you'll find the path in the description of the container), just make sure that you stop the container in the first place before editing the config file because if you don't stop it in the first place your changes to the config will be discarded.

If you want to know how to not create a community server (because the server list is completely broken because of that many Community Servers) please read this post:
