  1. I have a created a file manager plugin, which I will release when the next Unraid 6.10 version comes out, This plugin extends the already present Browse function of Unraid with file management operations, such as copy, move, rename, delete and download. Operations can be performed on either folders and/or files and objects can be selected using a selection box at the left (in case multiple objects need to be copied or moved for example) or by clicking on a selection popup to an operation on a single object. All operations need to be confirmed before proceeding, this should avoid accidental mistakes. The file manager gives direct access to all resources on the array and pools and should be handled with care. Below two screenshots to give a first impression. Once released more info will be given in the plugins section.

  2. This thread is meant to replace the now outdated old one about recommended controllers, these are some controllers known to be generally reliable with Unraid: Note: RAID controllers are not recommended for Unraid, this includes all LSI MegaRAID models, doesn't mean they cannot be used but there could be various issues because of that, like no SMART info and/or temps being displayed, disks not being recognized by Unraid if the controller is replaced with a different model, and in some cases the partitions can become invalid, requiring rebuilding all the disks. 2 ports: Asmedia ASM1061/62 (PCIe 2.0 x1) or JMicron JMB582 (PCIe 3.0 x1) 4 ports: Asmedia ASM1064 (PCIe 3.0 x1) or ASM1164 (PCIe 3.0 x4 physical, x2 electrical, though I've also seen some models using just x1) 5 ports: JMicron JMB585 (PCIe 3.0 x4 - x2 electrically) These JMB controllers are available in various different SATA/M.2 configurations, just some examples: 6 ports: Asmedia ASM1166 (PCIe 3.0 x4 physical, x2 electrical) * * There have been some reports that some of these need a firmware update for stability and/or PCIe ASPM support, see here for instructions. These exist with both x4 (x2 electrical) and x1 PCIe interface, for some use cases the PCIe x1 may be a good option, i.e., if you don't have larger slots available, though bandwidth will be limited: 8 ports: any LSI with a SAS2008/2308/3008/3408/3808 chipset in IT mode, e.g., 9201-8i, 9211-8i, 9207-8i, 9300-8i, 9400-8i, 9500-8i, etc and clones, like the Dell H200/H310 and IBM M1015, these latter ones need to be crossflashed (most of these require a x8 or x16 slot, older models like the 9201-8i and 9211-8i are PCIe 2.0, newer models like the 9207-8i, 9300-8i and newer are PCIe 3.0) For these and when not using a backplane you need SAS to SATA breakout cables, SFF-8087 to SATA for SAS2 models: SFF-8643 to SATA for SAS3 models: Keep in mind that they need to be forward breakout cables (reverse breakout look the same but won't work, as the name implies they work for the reverse, SATA goes on the board/HBA and the miniSAS on a backplane), sometimes they are also called Mini SAS (SFF-8xxx Host) to 4X SATA (Target), this is the same as forward breakout. If more ports are needed you can use multiple controllers, controllers with more ports (there are 16 and 24 port LSI HBAs, like the 9201-16i, 9305-16i, 9305-24i, etc) or use one LSI HBA connected to a SAS expander, like the Intel RES2SV240 or HP SAS expander. P.S. Avoid SATA port multipliers with Unraid, also avoid any Marvell controller. For some performance numbers on most of these see below:

  5. Part of the problem of modifying shares with smb-extra.conf is its location in the smb.conf file. See below: # hook for user-defined samba config include = /boot/config/smb-extra.conf # auto-configured shares include = /etc/samba/smb-shares.conf Note that it is called before smb-shares.conf This means that the share doesn't exist before you try to modify them with the smb-extra.conf file. I have known about this situation for several years (guessing about 8 years) but never really felt it was an issue as no one ever had an issue with it. Would changing the order of the of the include statements solve your problem? If it would, I would suggest you prepare and post a 'Bug Report'. EDIT: Years ago, the Samba Organization's example smb.conf file had the include = smb-extra.conf as the last item in that file!

  7. thx .... and again the problem was direct in front of the screen .... i didtn add "-beta experimental" in the "Game-ID" field .... After it worked now i also unset the "true" value from the validation .... it was set on true since i started the server thx for the quick response.

  8. Set Validate to "true" in the template and the container will validate the game files on every start/restart from the container. Don't forget to unset this value after it grabbed the update, otherwise it will always validate the files that will actually slow down the start and also can cause issues when you let it always set to "true"

  11. Hi, great work. But i have two things for you: - When i search on the Match-Tab for the Meta-Infos of the Audiobook, they are stored in the database. Is there a way to write the mp3 tag based on this informations? - Is it possible to assign to a collection when more then on e audiobook is selected? Thanx a lot.

  12. I just made the jump and bought a 6900 xt sapphire nitro+ SE. I have to say that the gpu size is massive! I had to change one of the sata cable with one with an L type connector because the GPU couldn't seat properly.. Moreover the GPU will cover 3 of my pcie slots (including the one in use); If I install the support bracket (I don't know if in the reference GPU is included) the covered slots become 4 (including the one in use), so I didn't install it. This gpu needs 2x8 pin + 1x6 pin connectors, the reference gpu only needs 2x8 pin connectors. So far so good! The gpu has vendor id 1002 and device id 73bf, so it's an xtx version, same as the reference one. xtxh versions will have device id 73af so they need to be spoofed to 73bf. Some panic when I installed it and there was no output on video, no access to bios and error code b7 on my z9pe-d8 ws motherboard. Moving the jumper to reset the cmos (with the power chord detached) solved this issue and I was able to boot again: a side note that I found strange is that resetting the cmos didn't reset bios settings...and as far as I remember this wasn't expected... Anyway I'm passing through this gpu to mac os big sur 11.6.1, monterey 12.0.1, windows 11 and kali linux and in all oses the gpu works. Some more panic when I saw that fans on the gpu weren't spinning, but this was expected, they will spin in all oses if the gpu is under some load. I still have a sort of error in the host: amdgpu: fail to disable thermal alert I'm passing through the video and audio portions of the gpu, obviously in a multifunction device. Both performance and silent modes are able to boot the oses (the gpu has a bios switch). In geekbench 5.4.3 test I have a metal result of about 130.000, far away from that obtained by @giganode: But I suspect that I ahve some bottleneck because of the cpus, old 2x xeon sandy bridge e5-2687w. Anyway the systems perform very well, no amd reset bug, especially working with solidworks in 3d is much much much smoother than with my older gtx titan black. Opencore needs boot-arg agdpmod=pikera otherwise the system will boot but black screen.

Pretty sure that those are coming from a container and safe to ignore At the very least, I guarantee that Nov 27 00:51:56 Tower nginx: 2021/11/27 00:51:56 [error] 11634#11634: *1314326 FastCGI sent in stderr: "Primary script unknown" while reading response header from upstream, client: 127.0.0.1, server: localhost, request: "GET /admin/api.php?version HTTP/1.1", upstream: "fastcgi://unix:/var/run/php5-fpm.sock:", host: "localhost" Comes from NetData

  14. It's always a lovely feeling when something you write with the objective of helping people in a similar position to you, helps someone in a similar position to you. Glad it helped! This was a pain in the backside for me too, except I had 20TB of data to move haha.

  15. These errors suggest device sdc dropped offline in the past, you should run a correcting scrub and make sure all errors were corrected, also see here for better pool monitoring.

  17. Hi, I got a new problem. Terraria on Steam got an update last week. I have restarted the Terraria docker multiple times this week but it doesn't find a new update. The docker is running version 1.4.2.3 Steam has version 1.4.3.2 Do you know why the docker container will not find the new update? I am not awake today. Just found that I am supposed to set the preffered version in the docker container. Sorry.

  18. I tried one of the headless ghosts that was made for miners. Took about 10 mins and the GPU disappeared.. Removed GPUstats AND I turned on IOMMU and now it seems... stable? Well it's lasted longer then 5 minutes.. it's going on a half hour now. So usually when it fails it fails in the first 5 minutes. Fingers crossed I don't have to reboot for a while.

  19. Yes, Machinaris is not meant to be a full Chia (forks) wallet. You can definitely use the Chia CLI within the Machinaris container. As well, there are other good options such as the new Chia light wallet. More details on the wiki.

  20. Notice the "+" at the end of the permissions on the current directory. This means that there are additional permissions assigned to this folder which 'fine-tune' the old Linux permissions. (Observe that this "+" also appears on each on the files. This has cropped up before (and I can't remember how the issue was resolved) but I did do a bit of research into it at that time. I will point you to the link that I saved at the time: https://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/linux-newbie-8/what-is-in-drwxrwxrwx-915243/ (Be sure to follow the link in the last post as it has some insights in it! Note that the date on that article was back in 2003 and it talks about implementing features into various OS. I think that would have happened by now...) You might want to consider how this Share was generated. Something 'told' SMB that additional permissions were to be associated with this share. I tend to suspect it it was somehow involved that that printer/scanner. (Is this printer intended more for the business/corporate world rather than a home environment?) I basically have no other insights into finding a solution to the problem at this point.

  21. It would be great to have an option to specify the number of visible dockers in the container/VM preview. It seems hard-coded at 5. For wide screens, you could easily fit more if you wanted to.

  22. Apparently this messes up 802.3ad / LACP bond mode 4, when you have that in use. I have 2 NICs on my unraid server that I have bonded to link aggregate.

  23. I just found this post/guide from last year. My transfer has just gone from 4 MiB/s to over 100. Now hopefully I can transfer all of my files and then have a 12 hour parity sync at the end. Someone needs to make this a sticky!!

  24. to clarify on this. 2.* You don't exactly need linux mint most debian distros should work. basically if you can install .deb package then it works. 4.* (to install if gui doesn't work then command for installing is `sudo dpkg -i hpssacli-2.10-14.0_amd64.deb` 6.* Make sure you're the root user or else you won't be able to able to execute commands. instead of `./hpssacli` run `sudo ./hpssacli` if you're not the root user (as default user is not the root user for most debian distros now). 7.1 * Make sure you don't have any logical drives or else you won't be able to set it to hba mode. you can check that by running `ctrl slot=0 ld 2 show` it should say `Error: the specified device does not have any logical drive`. If it shows any logical drives the easiest solution is to just unplug those drives before booting into os before enabling hbamode

  26. Just wanted to give another option as I just did it. Option #1: From a Linux machine, go to their tool site: amdrewards.com/pvt. Download and you should be prompted to save pvt.sh. Throw it into a directory in UnRaid, open a shell, chmod 777 pvt.sh, then sh pvt.sh. Follow the instructions. Option #2: (What I did.) From a Windows machine, install a user agent addon to change the browser's user agent to a Linux signature. When you click the download button, you'll be prompted to save the pvt.sh file. Throw it into a directory in UnRaid, open a shell, chmod 777 pvt.sh, then sh pvt.sh. Follow the instructions. I believe the pvt.sh file is built on the fly when you download it as I didn't have to sign into the tool. So I'm sure the installer can't be past around to just any Tom, Dick, or Harry. At that point you can log into https://www.amdrewards.com/my-rewards. You should be able to complete your reward at this point.
