Clicking 'Check for Updates' on the Plugins page is the preferred way to upgrade.

Note:  If you are using plugins, please see this thread regarding plugin support.

This is primarily a maintenance release to update php due to security advisories and to add some requested kernel options.

The

mvsas

parity sync slowdown issue is still under study - no fix for that in here.

unRAID Server OS Change Log

Version 6.1.3 2015-09-20

</pre>
<ul>
firmware: version 20150820

These are firmware files for the linux kernel loaded into devices by certain drivers. There are some
updates to Realtek firmware which may or may not improve certain Realtek NIC performance.
linux: version 4.1.7
linux: add kernel options (all per user request):

CONFIG_SENSORS_NCT7904: Nuvoton NCT7904
CONFIG_FMC_CHARDEV: FMC mezzanine driver that registers a char device
CONFIG_FMC_TRIVIAL: FMC trivial mezzanine driver (software testing)
CONFIG_FMC_WRITE_EEPROM: FMC mezzanine driver to write I2C EEPROM

linux: removed kernel options:

CONFIG_SCSI_AIC94XX: Adaptec AIC94xx SAS/SATA support

This was removed because required firmware file is not redistributable. This is for an old PCI-X
card anyway. If you are using this card, post here.
CONFIG_EXT2_FS: Second extended fs support
CONFIG_EXT3_FS: Ext3 journalling file system support

Removing these options omits the code for these file systems because the ext4 file system driver
now also handles ext2 and ext3 mounts.

php: version 5.4.45

This is a security update. Refer to http://php.net/ChangeLog-5.php#5.4.45.
webGUI changes:

Remember view selection on Dashboard page
Correct disk utilization on dashboard page
Correction in days calculation of parity in statuscheck script
Return disk PoH value as years, months, days, hours
Allow SMART info for unassigned devices
Corrected display of flash device in Main
VM Manager: allow 128MB and 256MB memory options

</ul>
<h2>Version 6.1.2 2015-09-08</h2>

<ul>
emhttp: fix possible infinite loop if client closes HTTP connection during POST data transmission

This should fix some instances of webGui hanging.
emhttp: force close smb share connections if that share security mode or access list is changed

Used to be that Windows would close SMB connections shortly after last I/O to a server. These days
Windows likes to keep conections open. Consequently, changing a share security mode or user access
list would appear to not take effect. This change fixes that behavior.
linux: add kernel options:

CONFIG_SCSI_MVSAS_TASKLET: Support for interrupt tasklet

The was removed to test effect on mvsas slowdown issue. Since it did not fix the issue we are
restoring it.

slack: added a couple terminfo mappings (user request):

xterm-color
xterm-256color

when stopping the array to reboot after this update I get

"retry unmounting user share(s)" continually. Not sure what steps to take to alleviate this and safely bring myself down. Not sure what could be causing the shares to not unmount...I have got nothing at home powered up to be looking at the unRaid server...

It could be a Docker or VM not shutting down.

Another possibility is having a console/telnet session open where the current folder is one on the shares.

Got these messages in the syslog:

Sep 21 11:11:58 Storage logger: Warning: stream_socket_client(): unable to connect to unix:///var/run/docker.sock (No such file or directory) in /usr/local/emhttp/plugins/dynamix.docker.manager/include/DockerClient.php on line 490
Sep 21 11:11:58 Storage logger: Couldn't create socket: [2] No such file or directory Done.

I'm not running dockers.

Had a Windows 10 VM which still showed as running when i telnet in and checked htop. Killed that process, and unRaid continued its graceful array stop. Rebooted fine. Ill now have to look see what kept the VM from stopping.

It's quite possible that the VM was applying updates which was holding up the shutdown.  Chances are if you waited long enough, it would have shutdown on its own, but if you had unsaved files open inside the VM, that could also have prevented it.

Version 6.1.3 is a lot smaller in size, any reason/explanation for that?

All of the decrease is in the folder of included firmware, and almost all of what's removed looks like stuff unrelated to unRAID needs.  I believe Tom overhauled the whole collection when he updated the NIC firmware mentioned in the release notes.

Rob is absolutely right.  In our ongoing quest to make unRAID as minimalistic as possible, Tom found a HUGE chunk of unneeded firmware files that were eradicated from the build. This saved a pretty big chunk (percentage wise) of space.

I'm still having the issue that if the array is stopped unclean (and I swear sometimes even when its clean), AD does not automatically join  When I join it (with the array running) it joins, but does not start the docker service.  When I look at the docker service its at "yes" for started.  I turn it to no, then back to yes and it starts just fine.

What Windows Server version are you using for your domain controller?
