[Support] binhex - Plex

Featured Replies

I'm having an issue with Binhex-Plex docker issue not recognising plugins (Webtools). I have copied the webtools bundle into the Plugins directory binhex-plex\Plex Media Server\Plugin-in\WebTools.bundle

Plex will not show Webtools under Plugins under Settings. I have copied the same bundle across to a fresh install Plex docker from linuxserver under a different directory as it seems to have a different directory structure and it showed up in the plugins.

Any ideas?

Edit:

I found the issue. I forgot that I moved the Plex data to a unassigned device

Does anyone know how to install the "Extended Personal Media Scanner" to this docker container?

I used the terminal from the docker to place that .py script into the "/var/lib/plexmediaserver/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Scanners/Series/Extended Personal Media Scanner.py" folder but it's not installing. I also attempted in placing it in "appdata\binhex-plex\Plex Media Server\Scanners\Series" but still nothing.

Anyone have any ideas?

Trying to set up binhex Plex but when it scans for movies it only finds 1 that it adds to the movie database but if I click on recently added it finds 3, I have over 400 movies. The movies are found just fine by 7mc and binhex Emby? Forgot to add that all my movies are ripped to individual folders, not .mkv or .iso.

I recently have had users using android clients complying that streaming isn't working. They are able to select content it just spins forever. I have been using plex and this container for couple years and made no changes since the last update.  I have a static IP from my ISP and most clients seem to be working just android.

I think something updated last night and broke Plex for me.

I was watching a show last night at 2AMPST (don't judge me) and the stream stopped suddenly. I restarted my Plex client (not the server) and started getting the message that my files don't exist. "Please check that the file exists and the necessary drive is mounted." This happens on every single file in my Plex and it shows "Unavailable" next to everything. I've verified that all my files are there and restarted the Plex server, but it was the same. I was tired and didn't feel like troubleshooting so I just went to bed.

This morning I took a look at the logs and found this error that started throwing at the same time last night:

I'm assuming something updated and Plex restarted. Now my entire Plex server is down for myself and all users. What do I do here? (I included the logs as well)

Update: I was able to fix it. Idk why, if it was the update or what, but my "Host Path 2" which points to data was one level back for some reason. I didn't touch it, so something in the update changed it. It was set to "/mnt/user" when it should have been "mnt/user/media". Once I made that change everything came back online.

I am having an issue getting ram transcoding working again in Plex.  I did, for the last year, have it just set to /tmp.  Then I was in one of these forums and it was advised to change it to another way that maps /tmp.  Which didn't work for me.  Then I tried going back to straight /tmp and it is no longer working.  I currently have it set to /dev/shm/ but that doesn't seem to be working.

I am getting not enough space error when many people are transcoding.  I have 64gb of ram though, so space isn't an issue.  I just think its mapped wrong.  In Plex its set to /transcode.  I am attaching screen shots of my docker config.

Hi, when will 1.20 be released? Thanks.

hey all, i just have a quick question regarding the binhex plexpass docker that i am using on my unraid.

I saw something with plex having Live TV, i can access it on my web client and phone, but not trough the server interface.. Is the reason for that the update for the binhex plexpass has not been published?

Another question, something seems off with my duplicate matching/identification. I purposely made a duplicate file to test it out and Plex was not able to identify it. I may have clicked on the new feature to "Upgrade Matching" on manage library menu.. Not sure what happened with the ability to find duplicates if its related to update or something else.. Please help!

My binhex-plex container isn't outputting to the network. No port mappings appear in docker.

I have a few questions about how to properly setup the binhex/Plex Docker. I am new to unRAID and even newer to Docker. In the past I have always made my own Ubuntu VM to run Plex in so this is a bit of a learning curve for me.

As I understand it you're supposed to pass a single directory which houses all your media - something like '/mnt/user/Media'. I however have 3 shares - Movies, TV Shows, and Music. While I could just pass '/mnt/user' that makes me very nervous giving the Docker container access to all my files. That goes against everything I was taught; only give a server/process access to what it needs. Additionally, are the media mounts passed to Docker as read only?

I guess to sum up my question. I'd really like a way to pass multiple media mounts to the Docker and I'd really prefer to pass them as read only. Plex has no reason to modify my media files, so why give it the option to.

Hopefully what I am asking is possible.

Anyways the Docker container is awesome, thank you! It's pretty cool to just start a Docker and it just works 100%.

In the docker configuration, see at the bottom where it says Add another Path, Port, Variable, Label, or Device?  ................................ replicate Host Path 3 which is the normal Plex /data directory that houses all the media, which you don't have.

Add a path for /Movies, /TV, /Music and set accordingly to your shares.  Then in Plex they will be accessed by those paths.

You can set them as read only also if you prefer.

I am having the same issue. I tired installing binhex/arch-plexpass by binhex to see if it was an issue with the other container but same issue

I tired plexinc/pms-docker by plexinc and it has the port mapping correct [IP]:[PORT] but when running it is unable to access the network as well.

I disable my routers firewall (temporally) But same issue it was unable to connect to the internet.

Using binhex-qbittorrentvpn with the mapping

172.17.0.2:6881/TCP192.168.1.90:50000
172.17.0.2:6881/UDP192.168.1.90:50000
172.17.0.2:8080/TCP192.168.1.90:8080
172.17.0.2:8118/TCP192.168.1.90:8118

And no problems.

There are no port mappings because this container runs in host mode not bridge mode, and thus you won't see any ports.

I understand that but any idea on why Plex still can not connect to the internet? It see this external IP just fine, but I am unable to claim the server

Have you setup port forwarding on your router or have upnp enabled and confirmed the port has been created?

Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk

Disable the firewall, Setup port forwarding, enabled NAT and UPnP. Attached the Plex log, Basically its says cannot use loopback adapter 127.0.0.1 and is unable to reach plex.tv but it is able to resolve the IP

When I was running this on a windows box, I didn't have this issue. Is there some UnRaid Firewall that is causing the issue?

Not going to address the webUI thing as it seems to be a very common problem with plex across all platforms and systems, but the port mappings is quite normal.  With any app running via host networking (which this one does), the concept of port mappings doesn't exist, so there's nothing to populate,

Not sure whats wrong here. Restarted docker and server. Only 2 of my 5 Libraries populate. I have an appdata backup. Should I restore?

I'm trying to get the 'Play Trailer' option working, yet every time I click it I get a "Playback Error: Conversion failed. The transcoder exited due to an error." I have the trans_dir folder set to /transcode in the docker but that doesn't seem to work.

I looked at the FAQ on Github and tried setting transcode to RAM. I created a new host path (Host Path 1), Container Path is set to /transcode and Host Path is set to /tmp/

Any ideas?

UPDATE: It turns out my servers time changed after a BIOS update and it was causing the problem.

Any reason I'm getting a not available under my Version in the Dockers section?

Wasn't entirely sure where to ask this, but my CPU (a G4560) keeps spiking up to 100% then 20% then 100% while transcoding is going on.

I believe its because its not using the igpu to transcode.

I wasn't sure how I needed to set this up, if it was something to set up in this container I am using, or a general Unraid setting?

Yeah, it's more than just flipping a switch.

Follow this guide to get hardware transcoding going with the iGPU.
