HW-Transcoding under Plex on an Intel iGPU is really good and working perfect. Handle 8 transcodes from 4k to 1080p is no problem. Your 1050Ti has some restrictions as for the number of simultaneous streams - so i would always go for the iGPU 👍 And if you need more cpu-power, take an i5 or i7 👍

And how is all these connected? Two separate LANs? Two different IPs? How?

Maybe this mainboard and the Samsung-SSDs doesnt work togethter well... just a guess...

From 4TB to 3TB - NO! The new Drive must be equal or larger then the old one 👍 But you can use the 3TB drives additionally - 1x8, 3x4 "+" 3TB one, two ore more

I know... but we are talking about unraid and so i said, it's unraid... but of corse, it's the Kernel itself 👍

Conclusio: Unraid does "not" support 12th Gen Intel Plattforms (correctly) - even RC2... as is sayed before 👍

Das is komplett egal. Früher (vor 20 Jahren) gabs Festplatten mit definierter Einbaulage - waagrecht oder 90° hochgestellt. Das gibt's schon lange nicht mehr... die Dinger arbeiten sogar Kopf über oder im 45°-Winkel 😉 Was sie natürlich nach wie vor nicht mögen, sind Bewegungen wärend des Betriebes - da geht aber der Kopf sofort in Parkstellung, also keine Gefahr für die Platte 👍

Wie du gesehen hast, braucht das Sys ca. 50 W, wenn alle Platten im Sleep sind. Das könnte von den drei Controller-Karten herrühren, da zumindest der HBA und der 10GBit-Controller schon einiges verbrauchen (ca. 13-15W).

Ziemlich moderat. Im Leerlauf ~50W und beim transcodieren ~65-70W (2 Streams in 720p) Da das Transcoding über die iGPU läuft, hab ich die CPU im BIOS noch auf ein Leistungslimit von 45W begrenzt - das spart etwas Energie beim Parity-Check. Hier noch die ganze Aufstellung:

Ich mach das "von Hand" - da verlaß ich mich nicht auf Unraid... da wird nämlich alles ziemlich durcheinander gewürfelt, was zur Folge hat, dass man ganze TV-Serien vom Server runter- und wieder raufspielen muß... Hatte mal den Fall, dass sämtliche Folgen einer Season auf unterschiedlichen Platten verteilt wurden... was für ein Käse! 🤣

Bei den Filmen is das ziemlich egal - bei den TV-Serien nicht. Man sollte aufpassen, dass jeweils eine Season von einer Serie auf einer Platte liegt - somit liegen auch alle Folgen in der Season auf einer Platte. Damit ist sichergestellt, dass nur die eine Platte läuft, wenn man alle Folgen der Season der Reihe nach anguckt. Man kann dann noch schaun, dass auch ganze Serien mit allen Season's auf nur einer Platte liegen - so mach ich das.

Have a little problem here... Can't do a SMART-Check on both NVMe's - Button "Start" is not working... Is this a problem with UD or the NVMe's? Or is this normal?
