  1. That was the beauty of this card it is unRAID ready flashed to IT mode you do have to buy a forward breakout cable here is the one I purchased: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01KFEVQ4E/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 And yes this card handles 8 drives it has 2 Mini SAS(SFF-8087) ports each handles 4 drives and no config needed with the parts I have shown here. One word of note if you are planning on ssd's for a cache pool you will need a daughter board for pcie as the drives will not trim on the HBA there is 2 discrete sata ports on my mobo so if yours is the same you should also have them 1 is for the CD drive and the other is unpopulated at least on mine I have not done allot of research but I do think I read that they are sata 2 so don't know how performance would be if you put ssd's on them but you should have 4 pcie x8 slots wired by x8 x4 and the dedicated slot for the PERC6i not sure of the config of those but should have plenty of options to make something work or there is an option card on think its riser 2 for 1 pcie x16 slot wired x16 in replacement of 2 x8 Lots of options for this Dell R710 to make a nice little server, VM machine
  2. Sorry after reading my response I kinda went right into the downside but that was for the PERC6i here is the HBA I ordered I have 2 of them work great right outta the box: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Dell-H310-6Gbps-SAS-HBA-w-LSI-9211-8i-P20-IT-Mode-for-ZFS-FreeNAS-unRAID/162834659601?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649
  3. Just a thought check your agents are stills selected and in the order you set them I found my had reset I guess to default during an update go to settings and drill down to to general section and click on agents select the ones you like and drag them to the the order of your choosing
  4. Well I just bought a refurb R710 and it had a PERC6i raid controller and it cannot be flashed to IT mode from what I gathered so I put an LSI 9211 8i flashed to IT mode and it works flawlessly with unraid I did see there was some workaround but in the end its to much trouble and you would loose SMART info on your drives, also be aware that if you have SAS drives you will not be able to spin them down via unraid
  5. Not sure what version your on but it should be in the top left hand corner of the banner
  6. Ouch see if this guy can help I have 2 of these and they were plug and play outta the box https://www.ebay.com/itm/Dell-H310-6Gbps-SAS-HBA-w-LSI-9211-8i-P20-IT-Mode-for-ZFS-FreeNAS-unRAID/162834659601?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649
  7. @Arcaeus I would go over to the Plex site and check recommended hardware and check the processor your considering on passmark as you mentioned 4K here is their recommendation 4K HDR (50Mbps, 10-bit HEVC) file: 17000 PassMark score (being transcoded to10Mbps 1080p) 4K SDR (40Mbps, 8-bit HEVC) file: 12000 PassMark score (being transcoded to10Mbps 1080p) the CPU you listed Intel Xeon E5-2620 @ 2.00GHz is at 7911 passmark score this might not be a very good fit for your plans Edit: correction Intel Xeon E5-2620 v4 score is 11368
  8. Yes very much so I have run this docker from the beginning flawlessly I too do not have an Nvidia shield so no help here but I would also question the value of changing containers but who knows until you try
  9. As the title says all my shares are now set to use cache=yes had to happen after upgrade to 6.7.0rc4 anybody else experience this
  10. Have you looked at unbalance that has a scatter option
  11. Have you looked at dupeGuru in the apps section Edit: don't know how I missed that you already tried but it does work
  12. Ah good to know figured it would be something along those lines this will eventually be converted to sata drives, so I'm guessing the smart error I'm getting is somewhat related? these drives came with the server so I don't know their history
  13. Put together an Dell R710 with a Dell H310 6Gbps SAS HBA w/ LSI 9211-8i P20 IT Mode and drives showed up as expected but I'm getting an error with spin down when I hit spin down the temp indicator turns to an asterisk as expected but error is logged any ideas homenas2-diagnostics-20190217-1227.zip
  14. HaHa yeah correct working with a new slate but it came with 4 sas drives and windows server 2016 trial loaded on the system and it does have a raid volume setup think its raid 0 I've been reading the manual it states that bay 0 and 1 must be populated with sas drives then the other 4 can be sas or sata if I am removing the perc6i does that rule still apply I would think not?
  15. I have all the parts needed i.e. HBA, cables and was looking for any advice for configuring the server, I figure the first order is to delete all raid volumes and make any changes to the bios while the perc6i is still on board then was going to power down and move forward with installing the new HBA and cables then installing the flash drive in the onboard USB any other issues that would pose a problem the drives currently are SAS drives never had one before is there any issues there was going to try and plug the HBA into the pcie slot that the perc6i is in is that doable or is it proprietary thanks up front for any assistance you may have!
  16. I believe it is doable someone posted how to but its been awhile so don't know where it was posted try the docker support page for Krusader it may be there
  17. I don't post much but I have to agree its harder to discern what icon your looking at, example would be unbalance or speedtest it just draws you to it when navigating both by its color and shape/image
  18. Great thank you yeah I was unsure about the forward breakout thing
  19. I picked up a dell r710 and will be changing out the raid controller for one of these: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Dell-H310-6Gbps-SAS-HBA-w-LSI-9211-8i-P20-IT-Mode-for-ZFS-FreeNAS-unRAID/162834659601?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 I'm unsure about the cables I think these are the right ones as I know I will definitely need the right angle for clearance on the backplane can anyone confirm these are the right ones? https://www.amazon.com/d/Mini-Sas-Cables/CableCreation-2-Pack-Internal-SFF-8087-36Pin/B07CKXFKHT/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1549763311&sr=8-3&keywords=mini+sas+to+mini+sas+right+angle
  20. I use Binhex plex pass works without issue and is maintained but all seem to work just a preference since I use many of Binhex dockers
  21. Heres 's mine with a 4tb parity and 7 4tb disk array Last check completed on Sat 02 Feb 2019 05:18:09 AM EST (today), finding 0 errors. Duration: 8 hours, 18 minutes, 8 seconds. Average speed: 133.9 MB/sec
  22. HaHa yeah I hear ya on that but some like to live on the edge😎
  23. If your willing there are many videos on the topic most show how to remove the back of the 4x or 8x slots so you can insert the larger device
