Simpliness. Long time ago it only saved used ones but I felt like „better safe the whole templates“. Not much more cost :)

Fair enough👍😀. Makes sense.

Can I remove .xml files from usersTemplate as well without breaking anything?

Only for containers you no longer use or will want to use in the future.   Thos templates are used by the Apps->Previoys Apps feature to reinstall. Ontsiners using their previous settings.

Running into a weird one. My backups keep failing with the below error.

[AppdataBackup] Error!

Description

Please check the backup log! tar creation failed! Tar said: tar: /mnt/user/appdata/plex-media-server/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Cache: file changed as we read it

BUT that exact folder is in the excluded folders/files list for the Plex docker. Shouldn't it just be skipped entirely?

https://imgur.com/a/pfIKf6K

Any help would be appreciated!

You excluded /mnt/user/... but the internal volume being backed up is /mnt/cache/...

I think I am too dumb to figure out how to change the order of containers?

If I drag a container  in the "start order" section to the right, and then hit save and reload the page, it's at the old position again.

Is there any additional step or save button that I am missing?

container order in the config.json is empty

"containerOrder": []

I thought that I might be able to set it manually but I don't know if it's a list of strings or some internal ids

The configuration file is also missing some of my containers, and I cannot change their individual configuration or save that.

The config ends at tika:

       "Tika": {
            "skip": "no",
            "group": "",
            "backupExtVolumes": "no",
            "updateContainer": "",
            "exclude": "",
            "skipBackup": "no",
            "verifyBackup": "",
            "ignoreBackupErrors": ""
        }
    },
    "containerOrder": []

image.png.9b2705f308a64bf85f8cce004ccb6042.pngBut there are more containers

Here's a gif of trying to change order

@KluthR can you please consider looking into this? You probably missed the post, but the issue still persists, at least it does for me.

This COULD be related to both Spiritreader and me having a lot of containers. Maybe folks with fewer containers than some unknown amount aren't affected? Just guessing since that's something they and I have in common if that helps.

Thank you so much for such a configurable plugin though! The only thing I'm missing otherwise is a way to save incremental using rsync I guess.

Hey legends, have a few errors popping up in my logs.

Not sure what this one means, let alone how to fix it:

[10.06.2024 02:28:03][][code-server] tar verification failed! Tar said: tar: Removing leading `/' from member names; mnt/user/appdata/homeassistant/home-assistant_v2.db: Mod time differs; mnt/user/appdata/homeassistant/home-assistant_v2.db: Size differs; mnt/user/appdata/homeassistant/home-assistant.log: Mod time differs; mnt/user/appdata/homeassistant/home-assistant.log: Size differs; mnt/user/appdata/homeassistant/home-assistant_v2.db-wal: Mod time differs; mnt/user/appdata/homeassistant/home-assistant_v2.db-wal: Contents differ; mnt/user/appdata/homeassistant/home-assistant_v2.db-shm: Contents differ

As above:

I have double checked the mappings for this one and it keeps occurring:

[10.06.2024 02:26:23][][cross-seed-misc] '/mnt/user/data/torrents/misc/cross-seed' does NOT exist! Please check your mappings! Skipping it for now.

And last one, and why I am here 😉:

[10.06.2024 02:57:10][⚠️][Main] An error occurred during backup! RETENTION WILL NOT BE CHECKED! Please review the log. If you need further assistance, ask in the support forum.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are youi setting up these first 2 containers not to be stopped? Something's still changing their files.

They are all set to 'Stop, backup, start for each container'. Unless there is another setting I am missing?

Sorry if this has been answered but couldnt find it, What is the danger in "skip stopping of container"? since it's just copying the data what danger does it pose? or is it simply not recommended because it may not be able to touch some files that are changing when docker is up?

If the container modifies files while it's being backed up then you won't have a consistent backup. Maybe it changes 2 files, one was backed up before the change, one after, then if you restore it can be broken.

Hi,

The backup fails. Debug log: 2f65d2e7-dd41-46a0-a376-3145a919b391

Mariadb tar creation fails and flash backup fails.

How is this issue solved?

(all docker containers are stopped at the same time before backup. No other process on UNRAID is touching or modifying any data)

Seems like something is wrong with the mentioned .err file. If everything was stopped maybe some corruption happened? Deleting it should be safe

is the destination path for the flash backup existing?

I just restored the vm meta but nothing shows up. I'm basically restoring from scratch, do i have to reboot or something?

Yep, if its set.

What would another naming change?

Failed backups are suffixed with „-failed“.

I second the ability to rename backups. The old naming scheme was much better. I like the ability at quick glance to see that backups have run and are up to date. The current scheme is not user friendly for date and time at quick glance. I would enjoy the ability to set a custom scheme if possible.

Got the following error this morning when I woke up.  It was backing up to my remote NAS and now nothing.  I tried different shares on my remote NAS.  Attached a screenshot and debug log code below.

The tool is including folders that I have marked for exclusion, namely Plex's Cahce, Media and Metadata folders. Here's a screenshot of my config. Curious if anyone can see an error with my input or if there's a known issue. Haven't seen anything mentioned about this so I must've screwed up the config somewhere.

image.thumb.png.f7b29d21268d6563e2d2bbc14f4733af.png

Things I've tried:

  • changing exclusion path and container path to /mnt/user, and any variation in between
  • excluding folder names without the full path (e.g. /Cache, /Media, /Metadata

Edit to the above comment:  changing both paths from /mnt/user to /mnt/poola seems to have fixed the issue. Still took ~45 minutes just for Plex though, so I'll have to keep the container running during the backup unfortunately.

Hi,
got an error when im trying to backup.

Nothing changed, since last backup.

Thanks for help!

Could someone help me with this error message? "Tar creation failed! Tar said: tar /mnt/user/system/docker/docker.img: file changed as we read it"

docker.img should not be backed up in the first place. What did you do to get something from the system share be processed by this plugin?

oh my... that makes sense then. probably this setting right here. CleanShot2024-06-23at19_13_12.thumb.png.f25d6aeb706bc584f78da6ebe247375c.png

Do you think this is unnecessary? Or should I add the docker.img to the exclusion list?

Add only those paths here which are used inside the docker containers. Usually /mmt/user/appdata and/or /mnt/cache/appdata.

Ran a backup automatically, I see folders in the backup location but the backup name ends in "failed", and the Restore option doesn't see the failed backup. There is no log (all it says in the GUI is "Log not existing or empty") so I'm at a loss of where to start t-shooting why it failed. Is there somewhere else I can see logs or do I just need to run a manual and watch the log output? Thanks!

Ran a manual backup that was successful, I THINK that the issue was caused by the CA Update plugin that I had accidentally set to run at the same time as the backup. Fixed that and ran the manual backup and it was successful with some warnings. Still not sure why the original didn't output any logs but that may just stay a mystery.

Hey,

I tried to restore a folder but im getting "The selected source seems invalid."
