[Plugin] CA Fix Common Problems

Featured Replies

I had a problem with mover which had stopped working and my cache driver was filling up.

The problem was I still had the older CA mover tuning plugin installed.

I fixed the issue by uninstalling the plugin.

I think that fix common problems should alert the user, because I've seen a few posts about this with other users having the same issue with unraid 7.

Thanks!

It should already be notifying you that the old versions are deprecated

After upgrading unraid to 7.0.1 Im getting an error upgrading "fix common problems".  I tried uninstalling and reinstalling.

The reinstall gives the following error (which from what I remember seems to be the same as the upgrade):

plugin: installing: fix.common.problems.plg
Executing hook script: pre_plugin_checks
plugin: downloading: fix.common.problems.plg ... done

Executing hook script: pre_plugin_checks
plugin: run failed: 'upgradepkg --install-new' returned 127
Executing hook script: post_plugin_checks

You also likely updated the Connect plugin from a very old version (relatively speaking) at the same time.   A reboot will fix you (there was a bug in the Connect plugin's update routine)

Hello!

I'm just trying to get a hold of @Squid since 18 March to approved my CA template.  Anyone know how I can do that?

i guess you can call this a bug   its throwing error saying files are on my games drive   which is true cuz i set it as secondary storage..  so  fCP  shouldnt be picking this as an error  and i seen there is a glitch when you add a second storage.. it defaulted  min space to 1.2TB  i was wondering why all the files moved from my download drive to the games drive... so thats messed  just noticed that now  yet have set the 2nd storage months ago

Been extremely busy with other things.   Tomorrow is the day for going through probably about 50 PMs here

The plugin runs daily and according to syslog it nearly always lets the arrays disk spin up.

File Activity is showing nothing, and if a run Fix Common Problems manually the disk dont spin up.

Any ideas? :)

There's the option on the screen for it to try and avoid disk spin ups.  Whether or not they do is dependant upon what is still cached in memory...

Hey @Squid regarding the Fix Common Problems plugin, do you think you could/should update the rectify post you're sent to for MCE Errors on Ryzen platforms, to this one by Jorge?

It would have saved me months of frustration and tens of unsafe reboots which happen more often than not during parity operations, thankfully not during a rebuild thus far

Hey Friends,

Got an error "Your flash drive has possible corruption on /boot/config/network-rules_orig.cfg" when running Fix Common Problems.  I have attached the diagnostics file for review.  Thanks for your help in advance!

Delete that file since it's a copy and not needed.

Hello,

I'm on 7.0.1 and I'm having these warning in the plugin

Apr 11 09:31:08 ServRaid root: Fix Common Problems: Warning: Share download set to use pool cachedownload, but files / folders exist on the downloads pool
Apr 11 09:31:08 ServRaid root: Fix Common Problems: Warning: Share Torrent set to use pool cachedownload, but files / folders exist on the downloads pool

Thing is, I'm configured for these share to use cachedownload as primary pool and download as secondary pool. Thus, it's normal. I think the plugin between pool storage and not just the array.

THank you

The warning comes up because there are remains (usually empty folders) on the "downloads" pool.

Check those directories manually and if empty, delete them.

(if not think of what to do with those files and move them over manually or delete them)

BTW: I don't think it is a very good idea to run programs like torrent downloaders on a primary/secondary share configuration.

While still downloading, the files are blocked anyway, so mover skips them. If finished the result is moved.

But you can easily get the same effect (faster without waiting for mover) to configure the program to use the cache drive as the incoming folder and a different folder for the unpacked files (on the array or something).

So, once a file is completly downloaded the unpacked result will be available directly in the target area...

Well the samething happen on my cache/array combination and there is no warning. Empty folder and files exists on the cache that aren't move yet.

As for the cachedownload and such, all there is on it right now are non empty folder that we're created after mover ran.

Probably because you have Mover Tuning installed. Remove it.

After upgrading to Unraid v7, rootfs filled up. (Thanks for the notification!)

The thread linked below had a hint about the new Mover Tuning plugin causing problems because its logs grow so large

→ Fix Common Problems could maybe detect whether that plugin is set to use `/tmp` which will go to rootfs?

Since when is the "Done" Button the same as "Rescan" ?

(And how can I now gracefully leave FcP ??? )

Hey there! I was advised to post here regarding an issue when a user share is set to use 2 pools (not the array). Screenshots are attached of the user share setting and the resulting message in FCP.

Please let me know if any additional information is needed or if I can help in any way.

Hi!

Yesterday without doing anything suddenly I got the error /var/log is full (100%).

Apparently from first glance it's the internal NGINX server which started acting weirdly as you can see syslog.1 is full of nginx error and nginx/error.log.1 also is full of error...

I've done a diagnostic zip, removed the 2 files I spoke earlier and restarted nginx with /etc/rc.d/rc.nginx restart to make the server work again.

There have been a few requests for the ability to disable the Docker update check (Jan 25, 2025, Oct 6, 2024, Oct 15, 2024). I'm also interested in being able to disable this. Maybe a broader feature request would be for the ability to see a list of all of the checks that are available in Fix Common Problems with the ability to disable/ignore them. This would be especially useful because the way it works now, you have to wait for a problem to occur before you can ignore it. Also, it SEEMS that the ignore mechanism uses the exact wording of the notification which for something like Docker updates would be a real game of Whack-a-Mole as the message would vary depending on the name of the container.
