My server is crashing every 2-3 days, I get no screen output and the server stops listening on ssh, so I end up having to hard reset it. This is about the fifth time that it crashed. By saving the syslog to the /boot directory this time I was able to capture the logs while the system crashed, I am not able to interpret it, however. Hey Guys, first of all thanks for your great Software   I tried 3-4 times to transfer my data to a new installed unraid server - using rsync. Everytime with the same issue. Also it doesnt matter with rsync options variation I am using.   During rsync transfer (external usb Device with UD plugin to my parity drive) rsync is crashing - after an hour i think (varied). in old system (8100,z370m), all harddisks connect to motherboard sata port and harddisk(all are sata disk) spindown work well   in new system(10900 z490m), some harddisks connect to a HBA card(ASR-78165, work in HBA/direct mode), others connect to motherboard which disks connect to motherboard spindown works well as in old system but which(1 disk without read/write) connect to HBA spindown, then spinup by read SMART operation quickly those disks' [Spin down delay]

I started with a BTRFS pool of 2x 18TB in raid0, this has been running for a few months. Caveat: I still need to confirm this 100% as a pool rebuild is taking time so I can't examine the disk. Hi. So decided to move one of my VMs to cache: Powered down VM. Moved the .img to cache drive. Went in to Update VM with new settings, in "form view" and just clicked my way to the new location. Hit Update and Started the VM. The VM did not boot, just got stuck in UEFI prompt. Could not get it to boot. Switched back to old VM image, also did not boot. Panic began to set in as this is my main Firewall, pfSense. Created new VM, pointed to image and the new VM booted. Wtf yo! C

Hello, I just did a change in the disk and add a comment: 2,5" disk of 5 TB.   The " (quotes) just broke the php and now I am getting the screen attached:   I notice that state/disks.ini has that info, but looks like the file is updated from somewhere. Hello, I really need help after numerous issues with one of my unraid servers. I have tried everything I can think of so far but so far nothing has worked. Randomly, one or many of my drives do not mount properly after inputting the encryption key. This causes me to have to reboot the server and then my parity drives generate errors which then I have to rebuild the parity drive(s). Sorry for reaching out but thus is really frustrating. I have a 12tb parity drive, and an extra 10tb drive I want to add as the second parity drive. No data disk is larger than 10tb. However, unRAID won't let me boot the array in this configuration due to the "parity device is not the biggest" error.   I can't add the second parity drive directly, nor can I use "new config" to set up the two parity drives in either order.   The 10tb parity drive is the same model, make, and byte size as the 10tb data drive.   Version: 6

I have a Windows 10 VM that, when trying to start, causes the cache disk to be read only.   I have used the VM before, but cannot remember if i have changed any configuration of it since.  I tried looking it over, but cannot see any problems.   I use these VM's regularly: [Name] Windows 10 Ubuntu   And the problem matic one is this one: Windows 10 v2   When started it throws an execution error: Execution error unable to open /mnt/user/

The Fix Common Problems plugin says there is a bug in 6.1.9 and 6.2b21 that will re-enable the FTP server on reboot. I know the general opinion is it is a non issue as long as there are no users defined but I am working on an enhancement to address the security issues with the users.   Either way, I think it happens because /etc/inetd.conf is replaced on reboot and in the stock one the ftp line is not commented out.   ftp stream tcp nowait root /usr/sbin/tcpd vsft

Tested in 6.9.2 with a sharename like "foo bar" (whitespace in name). The caching was set to prefer and a file was created on the disk array. After starting the mover, the file isn't moved to the cache (as expected). Found by @jluerken.

One of my servers is being spammed with an error every second. My research leads me to the driver below possibly being out of date on Unraid. I am not a computer software genius so its very possible this is not correct. Either way I have this error on 6.9.2 and don't know how to fix it. Its probably not critical but when I view the logs it is not ideal. I recently upgraded to 6.9.2 and oddly enough- all was working well for the first couple days. Then randomly this network problem arose once again (with no server changes done on my end between then and now). This has been an issue from 6.9.0+ (issue exists in 6.10.0 rc-1 when I tested that as well). After upgrading from 6.8.3 to 6.9.2 two of my disks are indicating Unsupported partition layout in the main tab.  Rather than taking them out of the array and running a filesystem check I decided to downgrade back to 6.8.3.  The error went away.  I've attached pics and diagnostics of the system running on 6.9.2 and 6.8.3.  Is this a bug in 6.9.2 or is my system misconfigured?  FYI I did reboot 6.9.2 in safe mode but the disk error still persisted.  Thank you.   UPDATE: replaced the two
