  1. Works automatically, although UNRAID still shows it as "VFAT"
  2. there is no need for <32G anymore. The restriction went away some Windows Versions earlier already. Now you can create an (ex)FAT Partition with more then 32Gb and modern PCs can boot from it (keep your BIOS recent!) But one thing from the old video still is important: put the stick into an USB2.0 port even if it is a 3.x one! This will slow it down and cool it down too. It will last much longer in 24/7 operations Boot speed will be faster slightly in 3.0 port, but you will regret it if the stick wears out quite fast. Boot Time is not really important, after the boot UNRAID runs from RAM, with full speed.
  3. not just retry, redo! :-) Again, you have to set the check boxes for the things you wanna keep (pools?) then hit APPLY, then hit DONE
  4. right, but the risk that a drive will fail during the parity build is small. Also, you surely have a backup, dont you? (parity is NO substitute for a backup!)
  5. no, if you set this, you cannot make new assignments, it will keep the old config then. actually it is stop array goto new config do NOT preserve current assinments (you could keep pools if you like, but NOT the array) put in new disks (the slots do not matter, so no need to move around all of them) make new assignments start array new parity will be generated automatically Be cautious not to assign old data drive as parity, else content would be lost. But in your case you have to pick one of the 12Tb drives as parity, they are empty, so it does not matter
  6. Why do people always try to make it complicated??? Throw away all that stuff and go with one, fast, NIC. There is no benefit from splitting the traffic apart, it only makes things more complicated and subject to fail. Go out, get a 100G card and thats all you will ever need. (ok, 40,25 or even 10G would do the same normally too already)
  7. You dont have a static IP if you have got it over DHCP. You may have a pseudo static IP if the DHCP server is configured to send out always the same IP if the request comes from a certain MAC, but that is not the same as "static ip". Ok, so far not helpful, I know :-) I guess your firewall/DHCP server has undergone some changes due to recent updates or something. He does not find the old assignment anymore, so he issues a new address (the old one is still in the tables, so it should complain about double assignments somewhere, check the logs)
  8. Firefox. as you can see from the 1st screenshot, there is no visible scrollbar until you hover over that region. Just make it 4 only, these will fit if you make them as small as on the other pages. And maybe consider to add a switch to the setting to turn off this totally uncessary "responsive and mobile" completely. Just add a "columes" setting so the user can set his own desired width.
  9. yeah, you are right, that "cache_dirs" scripts creates and launches an "at" command. It is used for waiting for the array to become online and then start checking it. I was not aware of this, just examined the script and saw it. The other message "9n5..." comes from my own script "addtofirefoxsettings", it just echos the found active profile for firefox to be edited. (harmless too) Too make it less mystic I have just changed the message to "Found Firefox Profile to edit under 9n35r0i1.default"
  10. you are asking ME, or somebody else? if ME: no. No at or cronjobs here in go.
  11. a few updates ago, the plugin got some cosmetic changes, which I find rather annoying: The start page now contains more icons that can fit onto the screen and add side scrolling rulers (not shown here, they appear if you hover below the first row of icons and "recent apps") This cuts off the rightmost icons, you have to know that 2 more are there and need to hit the scrollbar to see them. And because the scrollbar only shows up if you put the mouse over the right spot, it took me some time to find it at all. Anyway, it now takes ages to see the whole line And you need to repeat these steps for every single section that comes below This is really annoying and no help at all. Think of showing less items per section, make the boxes smaller or something else. Just get rid of these scrollbars please. btw: this only happens on the "home" page of the plugin. Every other page nicely only show 3 items per line and does not need side scrolling!
  12. This restriction does not exist anymore on recent windows 11 versions. But of course, using FAT with such sizes is a waste of space because a cluster (the smallest disk part a file can use) grows ridiculously large. (exFAT does not make it better) But, as you can see, it works
  13. you know that beta versions are only offered if you select manually the "next" version tab? You also have to acknowledge the disclaimer and log in to unraid.net. Only after these 3 things the update will be done.
  14. can't be. look at the screenshot first comes the error message, a few lines later "executing go script" Anyway you have pointed me into the correct direction, thanks. "go" was just a fix for an error an update produced long long ago. The "Dynamix System Temp" Plugin once detected the NCT6755 driver, which does not exist anymore. But on every reboot it wanted to load it. No Temps and no fans anymore. I've searched around and found the 6775 as the followup and added it to "go". To fix it, open the settings in system temp, and just click on "detect". It will find the new driver and update the stored value. (something that was missing at that UNRAID update long time ago) Msg gone, fans and temp working
  15. Any "solution" or "exlanation" for now ???
  16. I see "time not synchronized" but no hint that it happens later somewhere ?!?!? No internet connection or missing/wrong ntp servers configured? Without a valid time many services wont function correctly or at all.
  17. unlikely that the lan card change will help in any way. There is no SMB on the LAN card, its in higher Layers on top of it.
  18. note that with recent windows versions Microsoft forced Signing to ON. You can turn it off (or to "if possible") again by editing the local security settings on the client. This is more or less just another try to force people to W11 and to Windows Server/Cloud.
  23. I think your 2000rpm fans for the cases are too slow to suck in enough air through the small gaps between the disks. You should replace them with faster ones (that of course will be louder too, but not that much if you stick to nocturna or companies like be-quiet). Also the small fan on top of the case is essential! Hot air goes UP, it does not matter if your slots are open or the IO shield is missing, the hot air from the disks will never get there. It will be stuck at the top back of the cage and if it cannot get out there, there will be blocking thermal zone. Your front fans wont be able to suck in fresh cool air because of this block Fix that fan or just pull it out to allow wider escape. The other obvious help would be to use only every second slot in the cages leaving wider gaps for the air. But its clear nobody buys a 5 x cage to use only 3 slots out of it. But even then you could sometimes can help by more intelligently plugging in the disks. If you have SSDs or 2.5" drives, plug them between the 3.5" ones. This also will wider the gap for the air.
