  1. It is possible to add a cooling fan to the 71605. Fan has to be plugged into the motherboard or a hub. Just an option. Scroll down to Dec 2021 for the relevant section https://forums.serverbuilds.net/t/official-adaptec-asr-series-sas-hba-overview/9033/30?page=2
  2. https://www.ebay.com/str/theartofserver Reputable seller dealing with server pulls that get updated and tested. Very hardware knowledgeable also.
  3. Side note. Unless they recently stopped, Amazon 'commingles' items shipped and sold by amazon with stuff shipped by amazon and sold by whomever chooses to participate in the commingling program. So you may have bought something labeled as shipped and sold by amazon and gotten something else entirely. https://www.sourcing-monster.com/amazon-commingled-inventory/ Only leaving one link - google it, you'll find plenty.
  4. Some good info to go through here.
  5. Description and pictures for active cooling. Keeps the cards about room temp. https://hardforum.com/threads/cooling-suggestions-for-lsi-sas-card-lsi-9207-8i.1957715/
  6. https://hub.docker.com/r/kyokuheki/falcon-sensor This what you are thinking of?
  7. That same board is available at newegg. There are some supermicro X12SAE boards out there that might do the trick for you. New and used.
  8. Not a pretty mod but will should keep that card cool for you. Keep in mind most of these cards are designed for a low profile server chassis with lots of airflow so you may have to flex a little to keep it from overheating.
  9. I have 3 rosewil 4 in 3s. One of them was damaged in my move to Texas. 2 clips on one side. Gonna snag some superglue to see if it'll work some magic. $40 each plus shipping (whatever your choice for shipping, I normally use a UPS store down the way) I have 2 icy dock 4 in 3s. Black Vortex units. Hard to find these now. $35 each plus shipping (as above, I'll ship stuff however you like) I have 7 Cooler Master 4 in 3s. $25 each plus shipping. To the best of my knowledge everything works. You will need your own screws but everything is present. Will be happy to test anything on request. I will test the Rosewils shortly regardless as they have sata ports, the others are just fans. Just cleaning out some old stock. I was gonna list an Antec 900 but I just snagged a 5950x system with an ugly case so it's gonna be transplanted.
  10. A very usable cooling solution for these cards. My no longer used ones still have fans on them. https://hardforum.com/threads/cooling-suggestions-for-lsi-sas-card-lsi-9207-8i.1957715/
  11. Do you have a kill-a-watt meter or a ups you can plug into and monitor? Maybe the Tasmota is bad.
  12. you should be able to set power limits in the bios. Worth looking into.
  13. Look for an option that is 'Halt On' with different options. Usually all errors or all errors but keyboards. Should be an option to not halt.
  14. https://www.amazon.com/Supermicro-6-Inch-16Pin-Control-CBL-0084L/dp/B000VUJYTW Is this what you are looking for?
  15. Those CPUs support ECC but ONLY if in a motherboard with a W680 chipset.
  16. Depending on what you have, you can probably run two video cards in x16 slots in x8 mode. Pretty sure you will have to do something completely different motherboard and cpu wise if you want a true x16/x16 setup. If you're current setup supports it you should try x8/x8 and see if it gets the job done for you without having to buy new gear.
  17. I have some type B's but they are newer than what that case uses. Looked out of curiosity. https://www.stlfinder.com/model/fractal-define-r5-hdd-tray-rGVqRrGt/4364339/ Url is if you have access to a 3d printer. Might be easier to see if the newer cages are compatible with that case. Best of luck.
  18. Instead of zip ties you can bolt the fan on. Only uses 2 holes. I've done this several times. https://hardforum.com/threads/cooling-suggestions-for-lsi-sas-card-lsi-9207-8i.1957715/
  19. Caselabs is being resurrected! https://caselabs.se/ Not quite there yet but coming. They will be selling old stock first and then updating their case lineup. Beautiful stuff.
  20. Memtest86 released a new version recently. Not sure if this the right spot to post it but wondering about upgrading the unraid sticks to the new version of memtest. Wouldn't be surprised if no one noticed, there hasn't been an update in quite a while.
  21. Check out https://www.ebay.com/str/theartofserver He does a lot of server pulls, tests the cards and sends them out completely up to date. If he doesn't have what you want he can probably point you in a good direction.
  22. I am doing some hardware updates and I'm switching to all LSI. I have 2 x AOC-SASLP-MV8 rev 1.01 cards and 1 x AOC-SAS2LP-MV8 rev 1.00 card All 3 pulled from working environments with no issues Make an offer and I'll add just the actual shipping.
  23. Looking for 2 of these, can't seem to find them online anymore. May wind up buying an 846 case instead but thought I would check here.
  24. It does open from that location correctly. Much appreciated. And I guess I will be upgrading. Thank you again.
