September 7, 20214 yr Does the Forum Software allow auto linking specific words? I would like to see "Diagnostics" automatically linked to the specific section in the Wiki. Another usefull auto link could be "scrub".
September 7, 20214 yr Ok, that works. Any additional ones or concerns? Cc @Squid, @JonathanM, @ChatNoir, @trurl, @ich777
September 7, 20214 yr Wow, that will save a lot of copy/paste from my canned responses. 2 minutes ago, SpencerJ said: additional ones syslog server
September 7, 20214 yr Maybe something on the Mover and one on file allocation ? But too much might be quickly messy.

Not entirely clear which wiki links you have in mind. Anything about actual procedures to follow when data is at risk I would prefer to not make it too easy for just anyone to give advice.
September 7, 20214 yr If you can catch a two word phrase instead of single words docker run or are we only doing wiki links?
September 7, 20214 yr Testing normal phraseology. I would like to see you add your diagnostics zip file to the next post in this thread, we may possibly find out you need to run a scrub on your pool.

September 9, 20214 yr Not used as often but I think still worth adding are parity swap and shrink array, though shrink array should be edited to remove the clear-me script that hasn't worked correctly for some time, manual option still works correctly.
September 9, 20214 yr Good to have these easy ways to link to the wiki, but could be dangerous when a user doesn't fully understand their situation. I almost always ask for diagnostics before giving them more information even if their subject line suggests a standard wiki response.
September 9, 20214 yr I agree, this is mostly for when the user already posted diags or it's a clear answer, and you can always ask for diags before writing those linked words.

Good to go. if any of these become an issue, LMK and I can remove.

September 10, 20214 yr I wouldn't mind if your also add filesystem check (reverse the order of the words). What can I say, I'm used to typing things in a certain order

October 13, 20223 yr split level https://wiki.unraid.net/Manual/Shares#Split_level Please and thank you. I've not seen a lot of questions about it lately, but it can be a confusing one to explain sometimes.

It's quite easy to understand. From the front door you go up half a flight of stairs to get to one side of the house, and down half a flight to the other. Easy peasy.

Split level is the most confusing thing about the basic OS operations. I originally scratched my head in 2012, drew a ton of diagrams and have not touched it since. Of course that was back in the day of where you'd set a number instead of the now better text, but it's still messed up.
