Updated to 6.12

Then my PSU gave up.. it even made that electric zapping noise as some dodgy Chinese component must have finally given up. (it had been randomly rebooting for a while).

Have swapped to a temporary MAG PSU while a new 1u flex psu arrives tomorrow.

Powered up started a parity check.

Then went for lunch. Came back an hour later and s3 sleep had activated during parity check.

Have disable sleep until any further comment from others.

I just updated to 6.12.1 and I'm having a similar S3 sleep issue. After the update my system started a parity check. My server has gone to sleep 3 times during the check. Looks like I'll have to disable until the Parity check completes but now I'm concerned that it might go to sleep during one of my automated backups. Hopefully this plugins gets some love 6.12 update love soon.

I got sleep working again and has been fine for a few days.

  • Add any array drives to monitored disks.
  • I also changed the time from what I think used to be 30s (is now minutes) to 1 for 1 minute.
  • Also upped the network chatter to 500Kb. May reduce this in the future.
  • I have it set to exclude the cache.

Thanks for the suggestions. I added all my disks to the "monitor disks outside of the array" list and it seems to have fixed my sleep issue. Strange that we suddenly now have to include the disks independently of the array...but it's a simple enough fix I guess.

Hi,

I have 5 80mm Arctic 4 pin PWM fans installed, all connected to my MB. 2 of the 5 are connected in series but then to the mb, the last one in the screenshot is a smaller noctua fan.

image.thumb.png.12aa78f2e469cfa82a9e595aead3d8cf.png

I set all low temp / high temp points for the disks and minimal PWM values. The values are being displayed in the bottom bar of Unraid. However, some show up as 0% duty cycle, while others correctly display the current level.

I hit detect on each of the controllers again and adjusted all points, but the results are the same. Any idea what the problem is? Also, can I rename these fans somehow. It's hard to remember, which fan cools which part.

Split them all to the same header and call it a day

Dynamix Safe Mode is super handy for anyone having dashboard issues with their plugins.  I am still having issues trying to find which plug-in is causing my dashboard to show blank, but this plug-in prevents needing the constant reboots.  Very nice!!!

How would I make the s3 sleep plugin spin drives down before sleeping?

This plugin allows the user to run the GUI with or without plugins. Click on the 'X' icon to switch between modes.

Note that plugins are only disabled for the GUI, but not other tasks or jobs they have created themselves.

The idea of this plugin is to quickly test the GUI in case something doesn't work and determine whether a plugin is causing this.

Hi !
I use Dynamix System Stats and it's a really nice program ! thanks.
I wanted to know how change values of bars for discs :

Hi,

using a Gigabyte mobo x670e with a Ryzen 9 7900.

The plugin system info shows all the information perfectly.

But the system temp doesn’t detect any sensor.

do you know if there is still no support for am5?

thanks

I'll 2nd that!!!  Only wish there was a way to disable individual plugins rather than removing them, but I'll take preventing reboots.

System stats plugin have swap read / write reading in 6.12rc6 & 7, have try server reboot. But no problem on 6.11.5

Below are reading on array disk, but STATS show it is writing, same on UD disk.

Bump, when will fix storage read/write figure problem. Thanks

System Stats "strange" on 6.12.2

One would expect more than just green color on disk 1, but ?!?!?! Hmmm

Also, on the System Stats page I see Writes per Second, but no Reads ?!?!?

(increadable slow writes for an rsync copy job... zfs is baaad)

I'm having a problem with the new update regarding system temp/auto fan.
The drivers load as usual but the array speed fan shows blank.
I have an x570 Aorus Motherboad.
None of the pwm fans are detected.

EDIT: Fixed it by installing "ITE IT87 Driver" Plugin!!

msedge_INf4KxIXMc.png

Good too know !

Do you successfully control your fan ? I have an X570 too, IT87 plugin installed, but seems i can control them, they juste even if it 1% or 100% the fan speed at the same speeds ..

@bonienl  i had a suggestion couple years ago but still like to see it for the System Fan

an option to label each PWM to give it a real Name  thats linked to FAN Airflow on the Dashboard page...  in past i edited the Dashboard page and renamed FAN0 FAN1 FAN2 etc  but i forgotten

it be nice if we can Label  like  PWM1 , Label or friendly name    be like CPU Fan

and then on the Dashboard  it would show up instead of FAN1 it show up as CPU Fan.. so it be easier to see what is what..

Does bonienl read this thread ?

Feature Request for System Temp and System Auto Fan.

A option to give the Fan and Name.

In my system all fans are called Array Fan and it would be great if i could name a Fan.

Example:

Fan 1 = CPU

Fan 2 = Case CPU

Fan 3 = Case HDD

Fan 4 = Font Fan

Fan 5 = Rear Fan

Hey there,

I have som issues with the Auto Fan Plugin. I can not find any PWM Controllers. Drop down only says "none". System Temp Plugin works fine. Anyone has an idea how to fix the Fan error?

I do use PWM Fans all attached directly to the mainboard.

@bonienl

This is the same issue that happened with the 6.10 -> 6.11 Transition. the s3_script command to find the array disks doesn't match the disks.ini file. Could you make the -PB cmd line argument more future proof as more lines are added to disks.ini?

From my previous post about the fix for 6.11 (modified to add more before lines in the grep command)

Quote

Found this after I made the same fix:

root@Tower:/usr/local/emhttp/plugins/dynamix.s3.sleep/scripts# diff s3_sleep s3_sleep.orig

41d40

< # Change -PB13 to -PB20 for new .ini file format

<   cache=($(grep -PB20 '^type="Cache' $ini|grep -Po '^device="\K[^"]+'))

---

>   cache=($(grep -PB13 '^type="Cache' $ini|grep -Po '^device="\K[^"]+'))

<   array=($(grep -PB20 '^type="(Parity|Data)' $ini|grep -Po '^device="\K[^"]+'))

---

>   array=($(grep -PB13 '^type="(Parity|Data)' $ini|grep -Po '^device="\K[^"]+'))

I've been using the auto fan plugin for a while now and just set my drives to spin down, with all the main array drives spun down, except the cache drive, auto fan turns off the fans:

"autofan: Highest disk temp is 0C, adjusting fan speed from: FULL (100% @ 1976rpm) to: OFF (0% @ 738rpm)"

But the cache drive starts to get really hot, over 40degC, it is included in the auto fan plugin drives list but it seems like the cache temperature is ignored when the main mechanical drives are spun down.  Any ideas?

Update:  With (1) drive spun up auto fan detects it's temperature but still ignores the cache drive:

image.png.771cfc5ce7b7418a045e9cee773f5e59.png

autofan: Highest disk temp is 32C, adjusting fan speed from: FULL (100% @ 1567rpm) to: OFF (0% @ 597rpm)

40 is nothing for an SSD, no point even bothering about it unless it gets to >65 or so.

100% agree, but main point is auto fan speed isn't reading the cache drive temp so everything will continue to heat up inside the case, less than ideal situation

So set the min. PWM value to not 0

255 is 100% i use 80 as a min.
