[Support] binhex - Plex Pass

Still not sure what caused the corruption though.

i guess you were unlucky, plex must of been doing some database maintenance or indexing new content at the time it was instructed to shutdown, it didnt shutdown in the time allotted (i think its 10 secs) and thus unraid then pulls the plug on the container which no doubt caused your database corruption. if you want to prevent this then i would recommend shutting down containers manually rather than just performing a shutdown and letting the os handle shutdown of containers.

I have been using binhex-plexpass for over a year.  Lately I am getting a lot of errors saying I cant stream directly from the server fast enough (I am on a gigabit network) so I went to check the settings and I find that I no longer have a webui option for the docker!

I have a bookmark to the ip, but when it didn't work I logged into unraid and found no more option for webui....

Any advice?

Like it's gone from the dropdown?

That's weird/I have not experienced that before.

I might make a new container for binhex-plexpass, (stop the old one) point the new container at your old /config and see if the option shows up in the dropdown after that. If it does maybe just use that new container.

i would suspect you have changed your network type from the default of 'host' to bridge, am i correct?.

Yes, it is gone from the dropdown.

Not sure how long that has been missing, since I normally just use a bookmark to the location:  http://192.168.1.xxx:32400/web/

I have not made any changes to my network type.

The strangest thing is that plex is still running, and remote access is working (which means my port forward is working) and if I log in at plex.tv I can even edit the settings there, just can't reach the webui on my local network.

So I made a new container, and if I use a new appdata folder, the bookmark works.  (still no drop down, oddly)

But when I point it to my old appdata folder, the bookmark stops working, so something must be corrupt in the appdata folder.... and oddly it only effects the remote link access?????

so strange

I just finished setup of my container, transferred my Plex library and metadata; but I am having some problems. I can play some of my media but not anything that seems to be in 4K. I first tried to play the Madalorian in 4K on my FireTV and it would only play for about 90 sec before stopping and then never startup again. If I restarted it would play for another 90 sec. I went to the browser (Firefox, Brave) and tried again but no luck at all with playback. Even the 1080p version was not playing as a test in the browser but it would play on the FireTV...
I have been looking at the logs for awhile but nothing stands out to me other than EAE errors but I cant find a fix…
Attached are the logs if you need to see them. Did I miss something during setup??
Please let me know if you need any more info.

EAE errors are usually fixed by deleting the contents of the codecs folder in Plex which forces a new download of each codec as needed.  Sometime they get messed up.

Codecs folder is under LIbrary>Application Support>Plex Media Server in your Plex appdata path.

Thanks! I deleted all the contents of the codecs folder and so far its good. I have three streams going 1x 4K and 2x 1080p with one transcoding audio.....

Hello, I have been using this docker for a while now, and on and off a few problems which were quick to fix. but I'm having a problem that I can't figure out. as you can see below, it's not having any ports to the docker, and when trying to access the webui, nothing loads. giving the standard error can't be reached. I have attemped to change to bridge mode and map 32400 but nothing.

Any reason why my docker keeps telling me an update is available, appears to apply the update, and then goes back to update available?

Overview of what I see when applying the update, looks like everything seems to go ok

TOTAL DATA PULLED: 251 MB

Successfully stopped container 'binhex-plexpass'

Successfully removed container 'binhex-plexpass'

The command finished successfully!

I have nothing to back up this is your issue, but docker made a large change on November 2nd. They are no longer allowing unlimited downloads from dockerhub hosted repositories. I suspect this could introduce unexpected bugs into how unraid checks for and applies docker updates.

https://docs.docker.com/docker-hub/download-rate-limit/

Either way I don't have any good ideas to try. You could forcibly click the check for updates button, and maybe connect over a vpn (Or if you are on a vpn, try connecting off the vpn, you could be being rate limited because others are hitting dockerhub from the same vpn). Hopefully someone else has a better idea of what the cause might be.

Hello,

Every time that I update Plex via docker, something happens to the codecs and a lot of my content won't play.  It just sits there trying to buffer.

If I delete the files in the Codecs folder and restart Plex, everything plays fine.

Any ideas?

As a bad, quick solution you could add a user script to:

rm -rf /mnt/user/appdata/binhex-plexpass/Plex\ Media\ Server/Codecs/

(Or wherever your appdata is) Set it to run on array start, or on a schedule.

Hi,
Recently I've been having an issue with the binhex - Plex Pass docker accessing my HAUPPAUGE WinTV-quadHD via ich777's DVB Driver.

Following his instructions here:

I was able to get tvheadend and the plexinc/pms-docker to read off my tuners.
However, whenever I use binhex Plex Pass, the tuners never show.

Any ideas what I can try to get it work?

Thank you,

I have one odd login issue but only the WebUI on the unraid gui i get a login loop as shown in the photo.

20201229_141534.thumb.jpg.b3c065509aa16eda908a0ea49a980b0a.jpg

Edit: had to edit the settings for WEBUI from http to https to get it to work on the Server UNRAID GUI browser.

image.thumb.png.335da626ff41331d9b2b079bae2c1f15.png

Edit2: well I went and check again after restarting the machine, still loops on the login like above only on the actual Server Unraid's GUI firefox.  I usually don't use the PLEX web on the server so no hurry.  Some people say it is a Firefox issue but hard to try on the Server as the Browser is only Firefox.

Not sure if this is the correct place for this, but as this is happening in binhex-plexpass, I'll give it a shot.

Recently some of my videos have audio that will not play. If the audio is AC3 or EAC3, it plays. But if the audio is AC3 5.1, or HE-AAC STEREO, it does not play.

All of these formats played flawlessly just recently.

Any suggestions as to where to start troubleshooting?

Thank you-

Often issues such as these can be resolved by deleting the Codecs folder (or renaming it to something else if deleting it worries you) and letting Plex download the needed codecs again on demand.

This folder is located in {path to appdata}/{name of Plex docker container folder}/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/
