Hello,

I have 3 cards in my unraid server. 2 of them are rtx 2080 supers and one p2000. I get a "Failed to initialize NVML: Unknown Error" in the plugin ive tried a bunch if verisons same thing. All 3 cards show up in the hardware list. None show up in this plugin. The 2 supers are passed through to vms..

Thanks. I'd like to get this working again (it used to work on my old unraid server).

Thanks!

Most likely you have stubbed all three cards, and then the Nvidia driver is not loaded.

HI Guys,

Any chance anyone knows how to install both Unraid Nvidia GPU drivers and Unraid DVB drivers ?

If you do, Im still a bit new to unraid so if you can dumb it down that would be very much appreciated

Many thanks,

DBG

Yes. Using with some VM’s that are spun up as needed.

Sorry I understand that I specifically meant what type of VMs?

What version of the Nvidia drivers are included in the beta release for 6.9?

Be good to resolve this bug sooner rather than later with Plex transcoding.

https://forums.plex.tv/t/stuck-in-p-state-p0-after-transcode-finished-on-nvidia/387685/101

NVIDIA-SMI 450.57       Driver Version: 450.57       CUDA Version: 11.0

No idea if it fixes the P-States in Plex - but thats the version currently in 6.9 beta24

It does work for some AI stuff I am playing with though -->

Beta 24 doesn't have Nvidia drivers right?  So we are waiting to get a new Nvidia build for 24?  I know the developers are super busy so this might take a while, im just wondering if 24 is planning on making it into the Nvidia releases.

You realize that beta 25 is out, right?

Nope, I had no idea, just saw it.  So I guess my same question still applies but to beta 25!

If you are too impatient to wait for the stable linuxserver build, you can do it yourself following the directions ich777 posted. Asking for beta builds when they are coming out back to back is a little presumptuous.

Im not impatient?  I just asked If they were planning on releasing an Nvidia build for the newest version because they skip a few of them.  I wasn't being pushy or disrespectful.  It was just a question.  I understand it takes time and that the people that do it have other priorities in their life...

Anyways, prebuilt images are in the first post at the bottom that @jonathanm linked. ;)

At the time, I don't have much other prioritues in my life. :D

Thanks I see someone already built it!  Will it be uploaded to the Nvidia plugin app?  Or does that just take time?

They have nothing to do with each other, so you need to use ich777 plugin/build.

I tried this with a new blank config and saw the same issues and I also tried ich777 - Nvidia/DVB Kernel Helper/Builder Docker with the same results. So there must be something with my hardware and the nvidia driver, I just do not know where to begin on how to troubleshoot it. Any advice would be appreciated.

Just to follow up here. Thanks to @ich777 I was able to figure out my issue, it was the pcie power. I put the card in a different machine and it worked fine, so I knew it wasn't the card. So I pulled the PSU out of another box and powered the card with that PSU while in my main server and it works! So I just ordered what I needed to make it a permanent fix. Thank you for those that helped me.

A gentleman - and a scholar.

Can't wait for Power State switching to be reliable 🙂

EDIT: to be clear this release doesn't have the beta nvidia driver that fixes the power state. I realized in post this may cause confusion for some sorry.

The driver version v450.57 should fix that (that's the new one and also not the beta one, the beta was v450.51).

The v6.9.0-beta25 release doesn't include that driver, either.

That's not Linuxserver.io - Unraid Nvidia, that's totally different project, by a different creator. My point was to avoid the confusion that I've apparently created anyway. The point being:
Currently, with the driver release available with the latest Linuxserver.io Unraid Nvidia plugin release - that driver version is not included.

I installed a new GPU recently into my unraid server, and I have been getting hundreds of these errors in the system log:

NVRM: GPU - RmInitAdapter failed!
NVRM: GPU - rm_init_adapter failed, device minor number 0
NVRM: GPU - Failed to copy vbios to system memory

I also have installed a GPU and am receiving these errors, but my issue is only on boot for the PlexInc Docker. Typically I can manually restart the docker and it will boot fine, but it seems CA Backup/Restore might be causing some issue for me or it just makes the issue more prevalent.

Hello,

Hoping I can find some help / guidance after reading through this thread and many others.

I've installed a GTX 1050 Ti in my unRaid server.

Version: 6.8.3

Nvidia Driver Version 440.59

However, I keep receiving the error that "No devices were found", despite seeing that unRaid seems to recognize the device.

"watch nvidia-smi" output is also "No devices were found".

Here is the output of lspci -k:

87:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation GP107 [GeForce GTX 1050 Ti] (rev a1)
Subsystem: eVga.com. Corp. GP107 [GeForce GTX 1050 Ti]
        Kernel driver in use: nvidia
        Kernel modules: nvidia_drm, nvidia
87:00.1 Audio device: NVIDIA Corporation GP107GL High Definition Audio Controller (rev a1)
Subsystem: eVga.com. Corp. GP107GL High Definition Audio Controller

And also here are some of the logs that I've been noticing but I can't seem to determine the cause of them.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
