In the config (please read the description where to find it).

What is broken? You have to wait until your server is listed in the server browser, currently you can‘t direct connect to a server that is password connected, but that should be fixed soon.

You can also remove the password by leaving it empty, then it‘s possible to direct connect.

So I thought mine was messed up too cause it wasn't showing up in the community list. Once I read here that it could take a few minutes cause there's so many servers. I opened up the game and spammed the "Display next 200 results" button a couple times then searched again. I noticed the list of servers growing so I hit it a couple more times and there my server showed up. So nothing appears to be broken guys. (Well except direct connecting via IP when there's a password set but that's a known issue on the dev's side.) There's just ALOT of servers getting spun up by the community.

You weren't kidding... that's a LOT of servers.

I put in the ADMIN password I created and it said it didn't match. Trying the non-admin one next.

Trying to get the PalWorld docker setup.

I'm having trouble getting the changes I am making to the PalWorldSettings.ini to stick. I can make changes, save the file, and then when the server reboot it just completely overwrites the file back to default settings again. I tried changing the file to read-only but it overwrites the file anyways.

Anybody else having this issue? Am I doing something wrong?

Configuration: The configuration is located at: .../Pal/Saved/Config/LinuxServer/PalWorldSettings.ini

shut down docker, THEN make changes, save, THEN start docker

The admin password is for the in game console so that youn issue admin commands.

You have to use the password not the admin password to log in.

Please check your port forwarding )including the protocol) and everything else. The container is working for me and for others too.

Nope, just a few minutes.

Disregard the below, it is incorrect

I had to set Validate to True to fix this setrlimit() error 22 message

Nope, just a few minutes.

I only was able to find mine by pressing the 'load 200 more servers' button ~50 times. The server "search" function is not a search, it is a filter. Also, the Community Servers tab needs to be selected on the left

Awesome work on PalWorld docker! Curious if multiple saved world are possible?

Currently I see the 0 in ~Pal/Saved/SavedGames, is there a way in the console to create another save/world? And if not, to restart I just delete the "0" folder, correct?

This is not true at all!

Please ignore that l, that won‘t prevent the container from running properly (btw I‘ve answered this question already twice).

Validation will not fix it, this is just a display thing that you don‘t see it, trust me it will appear again. 😂

Please unset validation again, this will only slow down the start from the dedicated server since it validates the files on every container restart.

Hoping anyone can help me with this, I'm using the Vintage Story container but I can't figure out how to get to the game console, I've checked for screens but there don't seem to be any running.

You have to access the game console from within the game, the container is not designed to access the console.

Also don‘t forget if you hve connected to a server once then you won‘t see it anymore in the Community Servers list you then have to go to the Recent Servers.

…at least this was the case for me.

This is a thing that you have to ask the developers, this could be maybe be possible with a startup parameter.

Again a question for the developers.

To restart, stop the container, delete the folder 0 from the path that you‘ve mentioned and finally start the container again.

I can see the game exe in my folder though, and if I enter the container it can see them there too.

The relevant line of code in start-server.sh is

Quote

if [ ! -f ${SERVER_DIR}/Pal/Binaries/Linux/PalServer-Linux-Test ]; then
echo "---Something went wrong, can't find the executable, putting container into sleep mode!---"

Am I supposed to have a /Pal/Binaries/Linux? I am on Linux. I have only /Pal/Binaries/Win64

edit: Ok I figured out *why* - "@sSteamCmdForcePlatformType" = "windows" is in the docker logs. But *why* is the code doing that?

edit 2: pushed a fix to your github. your install command was set to asa which apparantly is ark, rather than palworld.

Hi,

I am very sorry but I am an absolute beginner in this matter and after reading a lot of posts in this thread and other sources, I still do not get my game server running.

I try to start a server in Assetto Corsa Competizione (ACC). Starting a server on my local Windows machine works fine and the server is found in the game in "LAN Servers" (i.e. locally visible). Although I added the port forwarding in my router, the server is not visible in the public server list, but this is another issue.

With regard to running the ACC Docker in Unraid is giving me nothing - neither local, nor public visibility in the game.

First I tried to use the exact same config files as in my local Windows server setup with ports UDP: 9231 and TCP: 9232 as written in some documentation I found. I used these ports both, as container and host port, and in configuration.json.

Then I used the default 9201 port as container ports and the ports above as host port and in the config file. So the port mapping looked something like "...:9201/UDP" -> "...:9231".

Now, I have changed the ports completely to the default port 9201 for container, host, and in the config file.

1612910660_Screenshot2024-01-19185554.thumb.png.a47832247b3bad19bf1d0f162c5a8028.png

Neither of these options seem to work in my case.

In addition, what I find odd is that the uptime resets every 1 to 2 minutes. I do not know whether this is normal behavior. E.g., in the screenshot it says "Uptime: About a minute", although I started the container 24 minutes ago (during my last change of settings). Also in the logs, the container seems to restart on its own. The log is attached at the end of my post. After the lines "---Server ready---" and "---Start Server---" it just restarts the server. I do not have this behavior in the log of my locally created server in windows. In windows, I do get the error concerning the TCP port, but this does not affect the visibility of the server in my local lan. In Unraid I do not see it anywhere.

I tried several manual restarts and also re-installed the whole container, but I am just too stupid to see what I am doing wrong, sorry. :(

Sorry, this was a oversight from me in GitHub... For all users on Unraid it was working fine since it pointed to the correct image.

Thanks for the PR already merged. ;)

Your server is not reachable from outside, that's why it's restarting.

Please double check that you forwarded all ports in your router so that it is reachable from outside.

Already done but it always takes one to two hours to show up in the CA App. ;)

EDIT: Please note that after you've first set up the server it can take up to 5 minutes to appear in the server list because of the massive amounts of servers created currently (of course you need to properly forward the game port in your router) :

grafik.png.93f2299c7d9f23e6efd5aeb83300d58a.png

You're a legend!

I noticed I'm getting the following errors in the logs:

dlopen failed trying to load:
steamclient.so
with error:
steamclient.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
dlopen failed trying to load:
/serverdata/.steam/sdk64/steamclient.so
with error:
/serverdata/.steam/sdk64/steamclient.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
[S_API] SteamAPI_Init(): Sys_LoadModule failed to load: /serverdata/.steam/sdk64/steamclient.so

At a quick glance, it looks like the steamclient.so file exists at /serverdata/serverfiles/steamclient.so

Is this an error on my end, or can that be safely ignored?

Already answered that three times, this can be safely ignored.

However in your case it seems there is something else wrong since it can't load the file from /serverdata/.steam/sdk64/steamclient.so and that's the path where it should belong.

Are you running the container on Unraid or on a different system? If Unraid on what version are you?
