Dynamix - V6 Plugins

Featured Replies

So I have two interesting problems - I have installed it87 and Dynamix System Temperature on a Gigabyte B650M Gaming Plus Wifi board.

PROBLEM #1:

If I run sensors I get this:

Sensor 2: +44.9°C (low = -273.1°C, high = +65261.8°C)

But Dynamix System Temp returns nada:

image.thumb.png.c92fb7ef85b9dcc022e55be31f0918d4.png

I would have expected it to detect something since sensors definitely returns a pile of data!  What am I missing?

PROBLEM #2:

I had a go at Dynamix Fan Control:

  1. Set BIOS fan mode to PWM
  2. Set Fan speed to Full
  3. Set Fan Stop = Disabled
  4. Set Fan Alarm = Disabled

In system Temp (as per above) it detects the CPU fan and the two case fans. I can click Detect on PWM2 and PWM3 and it finds the fans, and turns then down to 0. And then nothing....but fat nothing. Fans will not come back to any sort of speed.

I have tried setting a minimum PWM of 50 or 128 - it will always spin the fan down and then stop. So, it definitely can control, but it doesn't succeed in restarting the fan, or reducing it down to a lower speed (like it ramps down, but it doesn't hold at say 50 or 128). I've tried with Fan Alarm Enabled/Disabled and Fan Stop Enabled/Disabled. The result is always the same.

Other interesting points to note:

  1. Once the fan drops to zero Dynamic System Temp loses the two array fans (it shows only CPU).
  2. Dynamix Fan Controller will continue to try and control fans (spin up to some value like 63%), but this always fails. In addition it actually starts (unsuccessfully) trying to play with PWM1 - the CPU fan. This is the only fan still reporting rpm at this point....but why does it try to control the wrong fan?

I get the sense that this should work....but I'm not having a lot of luck!

just upgraded my parity drive and thought, while unraid is down i might aswell get system temp working again.

Edit the sensor.conf file again. I have a corsair PSU with ilink and CPU monitor.

For some reason the first line in sensor.conf is the PSU and that throws SYS temp off.

It would be a nice feature if you can edit the sensor.conf file from the webui.

Or even better. ADD the other temp options

The activity checker is broken and the dev is MIA.  I don't think the "monitor disks outside array" setting fixes it.  But try and see.

If it doesn't, someone has created a fork of the sleep add on that should work.  I haven't tested it.

This seemed to work. I think I will try and work on the idle power consumption, so the need for sleep is limited to disks. I did not try the fork mentioned by Marc_G2.

Thanks for the great help and feedback, all!

If you're referring to auto fan control, same problem for me. Was working fine on 6.13 builds, but fans are just running at full at all times with v7 RC2.

autofan seems to be stuck running, how do i stop it?  i've disabled it in the ui but it remains running.

i also tried this UI command but it won't stop

Quote

root@nas:~# /usr/local/emhttp/plugins/dynamix.system.autofan/scripts/rc.autofan 'stop'

Which plugin are you referring to? I am not aware of anything that specifies sda... for exactly that reason.

the S3 sleep plugin does

if you increase the minimum PWM value they will start to spin again.

@bonienl any chance could you adapt Dynamix Stop Shell plugin for shell sessions created by tmux?
Currently they are not terminated, which is a problem in case of emergency shutdowns (UPS initiated etc).

I'm using the Tmux manager plugin for reference.

It's a great idea, thanks, and I've implemented this as a setting on my plugin's side now. 🙂

The System Statistics plugin is not working with the newly released UnRaid 7.0.0 when only Pool drives are used (i.e. no Array).

Navigating to the Stats tab just renders a blank page:

image.png.ce51cd87adf8592d37e4a58767b6d3a6.png

I was seeing the same behavior on the beta and rc builds.  Priority is a bit higher now that the official stable build has been released.

Same happens to my nas. Updated from 6.12.14 to 7.0.0.

No stats anymore. Probably because of "none" drive setting for array.

I tried with deleting cookies and cache and also reinstalled the addon without sucess.

Would be nice if this gets fixed. Realy like that plugin.

Edited by NoRaid99

Related to the sleep plugin I want to exclude my cache drive. I understand from earlier posts that I need to select (as a workaround) all other drives as if they are outside the array. These drives however seem stored in the config under the Linux drive name, and my cache drive gets a different drive name at each power on.
Is there an alternative way to achieve this?

thanks !

I'm trying to get auto fan to work as unraid can pic up temperature sensors without issue. But when I go detect I get nothing. Tried Nuvoton NCT6687 and ITE IT87 plugin without any difference. Not sure if I have to reboot to activate the drivers or what. Anyone else with an Asus wrx80?

Did you run sensors-detect from the command line? Or do any research on the board? Or you just assumed it will work?

Honestly yes. When i had a previous x299 mini itx board, I am sure it just worked out of the box.

Every board uses different chips. newer boards a rarely supported! From your output it looks like your board uses IPMI, so fanspeed plugin is not the one you want, you want the IPMI plugin, and hope your board is supported!

Thank you I have made a reply on the post.

hi,

Any chance of getting an enhancement so the message that comes out saying the fan speed has been adjusted can include the pwm# in it? I have 3 of them (PWM's), and its hard to figure out which one is which. Also, many thanks for the plugin; its very good. Cheers Dave

Autofan isn't working anymore now that I've updated to 7.0, the service is running but the fan speeds are never adjusted and there are no messages from it in the log.
