Guest zin105
Currently unRAID uses basic auth to enter credentials for the web gui, but many password managers don't support this. Would be great if we could get a proper login page. Examples This kind of login page always works with password managers. This does not Edited September 4, 2017 by zin105 Quote Link to comment
-Daedalus
+1. I feel like this is probably coming, given what's been talked about with 6.4, and with the most recent RC, but worth mentioning anyway. Would love to be able to use stronger passwords with the webUI. Quote Link to comment
1812
I am neither for this, nor against this. But if it is done, then I want to be able to customize it and put whatever image on it I want. A SUPER COOL IMAGE! 2 Quote Link to comment
lordbob75
+1 I use LastPass and I need to open a new tab and then open my server login from last pass or it will not autofill. Would be really nice if there was even just a super basic login page instead. 2 Quote Link to comment

By design, only root can access the web management or console, and only non-root can access share assets. Can you outline what exactly you want to allow other users access to in the web management? Saldash
+1 from me as well. I'll echo 1812 here as well, a little added customisation would be very nice. Quote Link to comment

Well, root can access eveything and modify everything and that's ok. At the moment, I have 3 VM working on my server (mac, linux & windows) and they are used by more than one user. We are programmers and sometimes we crash the OS that need to rebooted from the webGUI. I would like to give access to only VM management to certains users instead of giving them root access. This could be extended to about every tab in the webGUI. 2 1 Quote Link to comment
jasont777
+1. The forums have a better login page than the server gui! 1 Quote Link to comment

I like this idea... would make management of certain VM's a lot easier. Quote Link to comment

It's a problem for me that if a VM goes wrong (happening a lot with 6.5.3), I'm the only one who can force stop/restart. Quote Link to comment
MrMwh
I'm all for something like this, if you can makes changes to the login page to make it your own. Changeable background and logo would probably be the only thing needed. I made a quick example of how it could look. 1 Quote Link to comment
jbrodriguez
@limetech I seem to remember you mentioned you were working on this. I'd like to ask you to authorize over http(s) rest instead of through the websocket, it would be trivial for the ControlR app (not requiring to add websocket support) ? Quote Link to comment

I think that'll make your job much easier! Just jumped onto the forums to ask about this exact thing. Lucky I searched. Is there any information beyond "some point down the road"? I've seen a couple of other threads where the same thing has been asked, including a Reddit post where the responses were pretty rude. Looks like there's certainly some level of interest out there. 1 Quote Link to comment
