I'm really hoping somebody has something to share. I've tried all the things suggested in this thread and the seemingly related issues I've read through on GitHub. BTW, I'm pretty sure the weird characters just represent progress of RSA key generation, so the issue seems to be that we're getting stuck somewhere just after that. The Calibre container is the one that I only update when I'm fully prepared to spend hours troubleshooting. I should really just some extra hours to make my own personal Calibre container that I know everything about (and can thus fix)! 1 Quote Link to comment

mortist
[Update] - Gave up troubleshooting and Uninstalled Calibre, Deleted the image and reinstalled the :latest.... Now it works2. Sorry to revive this old thread. I haven't used my calibre docker in awhile and it seems I'm facing this same issue. unRAID 6.11.5 Calibre:Latest Concern: WebGUI launches into an XORG login page that fails with "login failed for display 0". Attempted: I've tried every version from 6.4.0 to 6.5 and 6.7 and 6.8 and now "latest". I've removed the UMASK variable I've tried --security-opt seccomp=unconfined in the Extra Parameters. There are no "GUAC" variables defined. I have tried with and without "PASSWORD" defined I tried the "DISABLE_AUTH" variable. I've read the last ~10 pages of this thread and all the pages on GitHub.....Made no progress. Is there anyway to get this working again? Appreciate any help, thanks. For example, in my container setup, I have the library location setup as: And I use /books/Calibre for my library from within the GUI. And if I wanted to use a completely different location, I would have to give the container that path manually like with /books in the image. Quote Link to comment

When I do a fresh docker install this is what the path info looks like for the books, this is default info and nothing has been changed by me. The name info doesnt look correct, but thats how it looks out of the box. However Just to be on the safe side I change it to what yours looks like. And then when I press save the below happens. Tried each release since my last post and it's the same issue each and every time. 6.8.0 works flawlessly when I go back to it. Thanks I finally had a breakthrough whilst I was doing a fresh install. I removed calibre with the "Delete Image" checkbox ticked and then went into my appdata folder and renamed the calibre folder to calibre-680. Then I installed from Community Apps as before and added container paths for /books and /import and it worked. Loaded up normally. It was only when I tried to enable the OPDS content server and spotted it was sharing on a Bridge network that I saw the difference. I have been running for years on the "host" network type. When I switched the network from Bridge to Host I was immediately faced with it not launching as before. Switching back to Bridge and it works again. I have just left it with the Bridge network type now and just added the OPDS port mapping. Not sure if this will help anyone else, thought I would share. TLDR - If it won't launch on the current version where 6.8.0 works and you have Host network type selected, change to Bridge and test. Quote Link to comment
sonofdbn
I'm on Calibre 6.14.1 (according to the Preferences page on the Web GUI). GUI seems to be running OK, although a bit slow. Calibre is running on bridge network mode and I do have calibre-web running as well. (unRAID version is 6.11.5) On looking at my appdata\calibre folder, I saw a large .xorgxrdp.11.log file. There are other similar log files with sequential numbers, but they're much smaller. This large log file seems to consist almost entirely of this line repeated constantly: [171161.330] (EE) dbus-core: error connecting to system bus: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.FileNotFound (Failed to connect to socket /run/dbus/system_bus_socket: No such file or directory) What's the cause of this error? Nindahr
Hello together. Recently a small problem occured, and I'm not sure what caused it or how to get rid of it. I can't open the Web-GUI anymore on my main PC and Notebook with Firefox. I only see the empty KasmVNC-Screen (see Screenshot). The only device where I see the Calibre-GUI with Firefox is my Steamdeck. I've tried opening the GUI with Edge, which worked on my Notebook, but not on my Desktop. Using the GUI over https doesn't help either. I've tried disableing all plug-ins in Firefox and using Private mode. Clearing the Cache and saved Website-Dara changed nothing. I've reinstalled Firefox completly to make sure it's not a problem with settings or something I've configured. I've also reinstalled the docker multiple times, without intalling it from previous apps and removed the appdata folder. I'm running Unraid Ver. 6.11.5, the Docker-Container is the newest version (log: Xvnc KasmVNC 1.1.0 - built Apr 9 2023 00:38:52). Here are all the Browsers I've tested: Win 11 Pro Ver. 22H2 Firefox Ver. 111.0.1 (64-Bit) doesn't work Edge Ver. 112.0.1722.34 (64-Bit) doesn't work Win 10 Pro Ver. 22H2 Firefox Ver. 111.0.1 (64-Bit) doesn't work Edge Ver. 111.0.1661.62 (64-Bit) WORKS SteamOS Ver. 3.4.6 Firefox Ver. 110.0.1 (64bit) Flatpack WORKS Android 13 Firefox Ver. 111.1.1 doesn't work It seems like there is a bug in the newer browser-versions, or something changed that hinders viewing the Calibre-GUI. Anyone else noticed the same behavior or has an idea how to solve this? If you need any further information, please let me know and I'll try to provide it. Looking forward to read your reply, nindahr It's a common issue if you read the Githubs. Sometimes Firefox works, but 90% of the time it doesn't. Firefox based browsers do see to work (like Mullvad browser). So no clue what it is. I'm not happy at all with this decision to switch to KasmVNC and devs don't seem to acknowledge the Firefox issues. I'll give it a few weeks and then switch to another docker if not resolved. And with Linuxserver's decision to move away from Guacamole and towards KasmVNC more dockers might become unusable. 1 Quote Link to comment
cosmicrelish
Yesterday I was trying to get my new e-reader to access Calibre and I realized it was on a different IP subnet than calibre was. Calibre was on 172.18.0.5 and the e-reader was on 172.16.0.?. So all I did was change Calibre to be on the host subnet and now calibre wont open the desktop gui. So I changed calibre back to the 172.18 subnet and now every time I open the webUI it sends me to the wrong port and opens a different docker gui. I have checked and my port numbers are the same as they've always been. 172.18.0.0/24 port 9090. If I specify a specific IP in the settings for calibre and then try to open that address i get a connection failed. Any idea how to get back into the webUI? Quote Link to comment

Salted11
Good day. Have enjoyed using this container for a year or so. It now hangs on start, with the following error: OSError: [Errno 28] No space left on device: '/books/calibre_test_case_sensitivity.txt' I cannot find a .txt file in my /books folder and am not sure how to proceed. Should I uninstall and reinstall? I appreciate your time. UPDATE: It looks like the Calibre docker updated to 7.0 (and beyond) and now it's working again... Thanks to the devs for all their hard work! Edited November 21, 2023 by Salted11 Issue resolved itself. Quote Link to comment
Jazmac
Hi, I'm trying to setup Readarr with Calibre. The issue is that I can't seem to get the Content server working. I've tried both connecting via the machine itself and on a separate device on the same network using what I believe are the correct IP addresses/ports. This is how my container is setup. And this is how calibre is configured: The only thing of note in the logs which I suspect is the reason it isn't working is: xdg-open: no method available for opening 'http://127.0.0.1:8081' 2023-11-17 01:50:07,436 [INFO] websocket 1: got client connection from 127.0.0.1 QStandardPaths: wrong permissions on runtime directory /config/.XDG, 0755 instead of 0700 /usr/bin/xdg-open: 882: x-www-browser: not found /usr/bin/xdg-open: 882: firefox: not found /usr/bin/xdg-open: 882: iceweasel: not found /usr/bin/xdg-open: 882: seamonkey: not found /usr/bin/xdg-open: 882: mozilla: not found /usr/bin/xdg-open: 882: epiphany: not found /usr/bin/xdg-open: 882: konqueror: not found /usr/bin/xdg-open: 882: chromium: not found /usr/bin/xdg-open: 882: chromium-browser: not found /usr/bin/xdg-open: 882: google-chrome: not found /usr/bin/xdg-open: 882: www-browser: not found /usr/bin/xdg-open: 882: links2: not found /usr/bin/xdg-open: 882: elinks: not found /usr/bin/xdg-open: 882: links: not found /usr/bin/xdg-open: 882: lynx: not found /usr/bin/xdg-open: 882: w3m: not found Anyone have any ideas where I'm going wrong? jul9000
Sińce few weeks now, all my Calibre windows are maximized. It's cosmetic, but it does bother me. Obviously, I already tried the little icon in the top right corner, but it does only change the window size for that one occurrence, next time I'll open it, maximum size will get reverted expected: actual: Edited March 13 by jul9000 duplicate image Quote Link to comment
