Unraid OS version 6.11.0 available

Featured Replies

I just tried upgrading from 6.9.2 to 6.11 and for some reason it looks like none of my PCI devices are being detected when it boots up. i don't have any diagnostics because nothing works but i did fall back to 6.9.2 and generated some diagnostics if that helps. my motherboard is the Intel Server Board S2600CP2J and the network card is the Intel Pro 1000 server adapter.

is my board too old maybe? any help is appreciated.

thanks

James

  • Anyone having SMB performance issues with Unraid, especially with user shares should update to v6.11.0, as mentioned in the release notes it includes Samba 4.17, and from the Samba release notes:

  • Updated two servers to 6.11.0 without incident.  One from 6.11.0-rc5 and another from 6.10.3.   I was aware the Nerd Pack was deprecated for 6.11.0 and placed the necessary packages in /boot

  • This should be added in bold text to the changelog including instructions how to load the necessary packages !!!

Upgraded 4 servers. 4/4 upgraded successfully. 6.10.3 -> 6.11.0

One of the servers has Quadro P2000 with 515.76 Driver - SUCCESS!

Thanks!

Your support request will get lost in this thread, please start a new thread in General Support:
  https://forums.unraid.net/forum/55-general-support/

Not sure exactly how to interpret "nothing works", so I'd recommend that you connect a keyboard/monitor to the system and take a picture of the screen when the text stops scrolling, then post to your new thread.

Or if you get a login prompt, login and type "diagnostics" to write a diagnostics.zip file to the flash drive (take note of the name and path that are displayed). Then you can type `shutdown -h now` and move the flash drive to another computer to get the diagnostics to post in your new thread.

Tried to upgrade.
Still the problem with the eth0 that cant be found.
This time adding a blank tg3.conf file didn't make the trick

You need to create a new thread in General Support with your diagnostics

Did an update from 6.10.3 and all went well - no problems so far - thanks 👍😉

Smooth upgrade from 6.10.3 on a QNAP hardware👍🙂

Updated a few hours ago, no issues.

Thanks for the hard work.  :)

Pardon my confusion, but will this latest stable release support all of the 12th gen intel CPU's using the iGPU? Or will i still need to use "latest" to get on one of the "RC" versions?

Looking to use the iGPU to transcode files with tDarr if that matters.

Currently on 6.10.3 stable release.

Thanks!

I have my intel 12500 now successfully working to hardware transcode Plex content (though tone mapping must be turned off in the Plex settings because it's still borked). I assume it would work in tDarr because on a hardware level, hardware transcoding works for 12 gen now. Makes me want to throw a party.

Really exited about the ZFS groundwork here and looking forward to the upcoming official ZFS support. I actually switched to TrueNAS Scale for my new server because of ZFS. And although I enjoy TrueNAS Scale quite much, it just can not compete with Unraid in the HomeLab space. So thanks for all the great work!

It also seems as though I can't add back the TRIM plugin once I downgrade :(

You don't need to add it back, its built in now.

On a different note, anyone having any container network DNS issues after the upgrade?

Seamless upgrade from 6.10.3 for me. Removed the Nerd Pack plugin first, as I am no longer using it (Thanks Update Assistant Plugin for letting me know!)

I'm enjoying the refinements, the log output in the webgui is now populating quickly and in real time. Now, when doing a docker pull the logs publish correctly, before it would just show a blank screen and populate all of the log output all at once and this made it difficult to know if the process was running properly or not when using the gui. Tech debt/bug fix/refinement releases are important, so thanks Unraid team!

No issue for me too, 6.10.0 -> 6.11.0

Thanks for the Update Assistant Plugin too

.0 to .0 release, brave man - I like your style!

6.11.0-rc5 to 6.11.0.

Ran the updater, let it do it's prep and rebooted when I was given the Update Ready/Reboot banner.

I've had the warning about NerdPack since the initial 6.11.0-RC, but I don't even remember what I used NerdPack for and everything seems to be working fine. I'll update if I find anything.

NVIDIA Quadro P600 had no problem with the update for me.

Thank you. Every day I feel I got my monies worth on this OS. Great responsive community. I don't see myself going back to any other.

Yea same here, I heavily second this.

LOVE unraid, but ZFS is sooo nice. Can't wait for the next update!

Upgraded 3 of 3 on proxmox and had to downgrade one thats behind a opnsense with 2 NICs what seem to cause issues with connectivity.

At least downgrade works also like charm and after removing both NICs and adding one single VirtIO NIC I could fix it by changing

IP reservation on opnsense and changing to new IPs in NGINX.

FYI - some "new" entries at the log since 6.11.0

I have set "min protocol = SMB2" - maybe this is the reason...

Yes please.  Glad I read about NP here before just upgrading.  Are there instructions on where to find and how to load the packages in 6.11 ?  I don't have that many packages loaded, but I would expect to run into issues if NP just goes away.

I recall needing python and perl, but I'm not even sure when the others got loaded

I also have these two that always say Ready for Update, but after you do that, they return to Ready for Update.  Again, not sure when these were added either

I also have perl and python that I need to use. Holding on upgrading until I hear about this.

I found the instructions on this thread. The short version, you need to manually download the packages from Slackware 15, then put them in /boot/extra, and the packages will be automatically installed on reboot. Or, if you don't want to reboot, you can manually install them with installpkg <pkgname>

is the tone mapping an issue with the driver included in unraid or software issue with plex?  i just started getting 4k/HDR content to find out my 7th gen doesn't support tone mapping at all and need a replacement =\

or once you are on 6.11 you can install several just via CA with, "<x> package".. python2/3 for example are there

also with 6.11, there are several plugins that are included by default that save the need for many people to use nerdpack anyways. for example perl is included now.
