Can you please show how to configure tdarr with Intel iGPU using QuickSync? I added /dev/dri as device and selected "Tdarr_Plugin_Mthr_VaapiHEVCTranscode FFMPEG VAAPI HEVC Transcode" as Plugin. But it isn't working...its just using. cpu

    Yeah if you’re running the server and node on the same machine then you can just use Tdarr_Server and set internalNode=true.    There’s a PR to update the unraid template:   https://g

I spent all day trying to install Tdarr V2, I must say that I like V1 better and I had no problems with it. Here is what I am struggling with. During the install the main controller Tdarr is supposed to include the node.....but it refuses to install with the main installation and then I am forced to install the node seperately. This causes the main Tdarr with node to blink constantly during encoding video on the GUI. It just looks stupid but the only way I could get it to work is to give the second node that I installed a different name and port so there essentially are two nodes installed but only one is working because the people who designed tdarr are god damn stupid and cant fix all their bugs. I litterally tried everything I can think of and I am an unraid user of 6 months and have used it all day everyday since I installed it. So I am good at installing apps but this one is being a little biotch and doesn't work properly, I want to complain about Tdarr and the people who updated it to V2, It doesnt work properly, I have to do my workaround and install the second node with a different name and port to get it to work on my server. Does anyone know of a better way? Why everywhere I turn there are useless software developers who cant get a, f-ing thing right and I always have to modify it to work? Like when I tried to install ESXi last night on my spare server and the crooks want 1200 bucks for it and it doesnt even come with drivers so the network cards dont work on majority of servers and towers and hardware, morons I tell you, they half ass completed that software left out all the drivers and its useless to me, modify a iso file......yah right I spent 6 hours trying with documentation on the web that was no f-ing good and didn't work either, What are we supposed to do with all this crap software? Make the best of it I guess? It sort of works I mean I can get it to work but its always a hassle and there are glitches in everything and I spend hours in config files fixing mistakes. When are they going to fix the Tdarr template so it installs the node with the controller? Cmon I tried it 16 times and I even deleted the old templates to see if that would help and it didnt. The biotch wouldn't install and when I finally got the node installed it wouldnt encode and I played with it for another 3 hours before I figured out you got to trick it and install a second node with a different name and port. Fuck my life I spend too much time on Unraid, its resilient yet its not, one mistake and I am redoing installations on stuff, its all so finicky when it comes to making adjustments I make small ones only and see if its better.

There are two pictures of Tdarr Gui so you can see that the node is blinking.

On another topic my server is pretty but it was also pretty expensive and if I knew 6 months sgo what I know now I would have ordered a new enterprise grade server off amazon or ebay for half the price, 6G doesn't get you much these days when parts cost so much for the high end cpus and stuff mine was 500 doller just for the cpu and I bought two cpu, the 5800X and 5600G, and the latter wasn't powerful enough running a hog like Tdarr so I had to upgrade and now I'm stuck with what I paid 900 bucks for two cpus. Anyone out there wanting a unraid server or an upgrade just take a look at enterprise hardware before you dish out at amazon for a desktop model.

Later that night I had an idea, I set the inner server node to false and that stopped the blinking. Anyone get the node working that is the one in the main template? I gave up on that and installed a seperate node. I don't even know why they included it in the template, it doesn't work.

It does work. I think it is probably only you currently having an issue with it. Originally there was an issue with the template but that was quickly resolved. Why don’t you post your docker run command.

Honestly not even sure where to start with that one so will probably just leave it be (haven't seen one like that in the 2.5 years on here).

Instead of jumping in the Discord for a few mins to correct his improper config he decided to post that on here but hey ho, just the way it is sometimes unfortunately.

So I recently updated Tdarr and now I get this error:

As the log says, check the section above :). It will contain the error.

First off I feel stupid for that.  I literally looks at the ones with red x's....  Second I am getting this error: Error while opening decoder for input stream.  Any ideas?  Thanks!

There should be some additional lines above that that'll tell you what exactly is going on - believe it means you're trying to use a container which doesn't support one of the streams used in the source media, while having 'force compliance' set to false. Set it to true, and it'll just drop whatever can't be translated to the chosen container (happens most often with mp4 [which is like the 'universally supports damned near everything' container] -> mkv/etc [which has more restrictions] if I'm remembering correctly)

Thanks, I'm getting:

I did some google searching and still haven't found a fix that has worked for me.  Just odd since it was working before the update and I just moved all settings over.

So I have had TDARR up and running for months now with zero issues. Today I noticed some of my new media was still in H.264 so I went to check and Tdarr was no longer in my docker list. I went to advanced and saw Tdarr and the node there as orphaned image. I went to reinstall and the install keeps failing. Anyone have any idea wat could have happened or how I can fix this?

I had a problem a while back where TDARR had the same port configured twice in the configuration. Internal node port IP. Just a guess though. If that’s not it attach your docker run command that fails to your next post. That would give at least some info regarding your install.

Looks like that was it, for some reason there was a 2nd port configuration. Not sure how this happened but it reinstalled so thank you!

Sorry for the newbie question.

I have installed Tdarr and the Tdarr node on my unraid server, it seems to be working.

I am concerned as after the first few files finished (while the Quadro p2000 was still transcoding other files (Set to 3)) when I tried to play the new file on my fire tv cube (6.72) it did not play properly.

Is that because the fire tv cube does not have a codec to play H265 ? and the p2000 was overloaded transcoding other files?

If that is the case is there a way to reduce file size using H264?

Also is there a way to pause Tdarr other than pausing the docker, when I pause the docker am I damaging the firles that Tdarr is working on?

Thanks

I can't seem to get a tdarr node on another unraid server to work, I keep getting the following error(s) :

I also uploaded the Log. Both servers run Unraid and I mapped the Plex and Temp share.

I tried both NFS and SMB, the shares are on Export: Yes and Public, I don't see what could be wrong.

For some reason my Tdarr app and node got knocked off when I updated to Unraid Version: 6.10.0-rc4 (I think).

I haven't used it lately it seem to have disappeared.  Any one else noticed this?  It shows up under Previous installed apps but it fails to install properly.

Check the template when you download it. See if there are any doubled entries or any are not set correctly. If that doesn’t work post the docker run command that fails.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but the CA template shows the current version of Tdarr includes node. So do I still have to install the separate node container?

Reason I ask is I'm currently trying to set this up for the first time and even though docker run finishes successfully, the logs are showing me:

Please make sure the IP and Port are correct else it may be a firewall issue.
[91m[2022-04-09T12:54:42.350] [ERROR] Tdarr_Node - [39mNode: 192.168.1.100:8267 - nodeID 'InternalNode1' could not be contacted by the server.

Not sure what I'm doing wrong. I haven't installed the separate container yet, figuring I want to try to get this running as is first.

Okay, so I have a clue but not how to fix it. The port assignment in the error log entry says it's trying to reach the InternalNode1 on port 8267 but nowhere is that configured in the template, nor does it show up in the docker run. So something internal is trying to map that port.

EDIT 2:

So poking around paid off. There's definitely something wrong with the template/image. The Tdarr_Node_Config.json file that gets automatically created on startup configured the following:

  "nodeID": "InternalNode1",
  "nodeIP": "192.168.1.100",
  "nodePort": "8267",

I didn't set 8267 anywhere, so that's where it came from. Edited the json file, restarted the container, and all was well. So perhaps this is the issue a few posters above me had where they couldn't get the internal node working and had to set it to false and add the node container. Check the json file, edit it, ???, profit!

I don't know if I did something wrong when pulling from the apps tab, but my node was also not working. Once I edited the json file it was fixed following the above.

Similar for me, just updated node stuck at Bad parameter when trying to start.

I had to remove --runtime=nvidia from my docker config for the node to start, but then it will not transcode.

Error shows as

docker: Error response from daemon: OCI runtime create failed: container_linux.go:367: starting container process caused: process_linux.go:495: container init caused: Running hook #1:: error running hook: exit status 1, stdout: , stderr: nvidia-container-cli: initialization error: open failed: /proc/sys/kernel/overflowuid: permission denied: unknown.

Resolved by going back to nvidia 510.54 driver, seems to like my p2000's

Hi im new to tdarr, I'm currently transcoding nearly 900 files to h265 with my gtx1660, every now and then 8 get this error i keep changing the node id in the edit and it goes away but this error keeps on coming up any ideas?.....

I've had it all up and running for a few days and it seems great. The only issue I am seeing is that my 1060TI on a remote machine is getting about double the FPS that my 1660 Super (on the local machine) is getting. I am running 2 workers on each.

I have noticed that the 1060 is showing power state p0, while the 1660 is at p2. I'm not sure if that is the issue or not.

First off I'd like to say tdarr is awesome and saved me just under 10tb, before I had an issue and my drives decided to loose their partition table and lost everything (not tdarr related). Now I'm using it to transcode as I add media back. I don't have any issues, I have a questions and a scenario. I'm wondering how the output folder option works. Will it follow the directory structure? Like if enabled will it keep the same structure like original file is in /media/tv/show/season/show-S01E01.mkv and using the output folder option will it move it to /new-media/tv/show/season01/show-S01E01.mkv. To be automated to move files to the show name and season same with movies. What I want to do is use the cache drive to move ripped disks to the media shares and have tdarr pick them up from cache (before mover) transcode it then move it to the array. Have tdarr watch /mnt/user/media/tv then move the completed file to /mnt/user0/media/tv. I would like to have plex auto watch the /user0/ to auto add media and not have it watch the /user/. That way Plex doesn't pick up the newly added files before tdarr can work its magic and get metadata and scan for intros for the old files. Most of the time plex doesnt see the file type and size change and I get a playback error and so it doesnt redownload the art and posters and scan all over again to detect intros.  <--- or maybe a future feature.
