opentoe
Has this been resolved at all? I know there is also a Speedtest-Tracker out there. Not sure which one is good to go for. Quote Link to comment
Nelinski
For some reason, neither of those give me accurate results. They both show the same results with ~3MB down compared to my actual speeds which is in the hundreds. Testing via the Firefox docker or a Linux torrent shows my true speeds. Quote Link to comment
henris
I'm looking forward for the update too. In the mean time I did some testing with the "raw" Speedtest-CLI and I'm also seeing some weird results. I'm on a 4G connection so the speed varies a lot but still I'm getting pretty consistent results (50Mbps DL / 25 Mbps UL) from a native web speedtest and Speedtest-CLI ran from a Windows VM inside Unraid. But Speedtest-CLI ran straight from Unraid shell gives 4Mbps DL / 3Mbps UL. I have manually set both to use the same closest server so there really should be no difference. The latter results are also very close to Speedtest Tracker results. It is almost a year ago when I last was trying to use Speedtest and had a very similar situation; none of the available solutions ran from Unraid / Docker gave correct results. It seems like the Linux Speedtest-CLI is broken at least when ran on Unraid. Quote Link to comment
Nelinski
I have the exact same issue. I ended up trying SpeedTest++ as a docker. That gave me accurate results in the few hundred mbit/s range. Quote Link to comment
WARLOCK
@Nelinski Can you tell how you install SpeedTest++ in unraid ? Quote Link to comment

I installed it via Community Applications -> DockerHub. You can enable DockerHub searching in the community applications as seen below by clicking "Apps - > Settings" The version I'm using is called "speedtest-plus-plus" by eyeruleall. If you run the docker, it'll show you your speedtest results in the docker log file. Quote Link to comment
page3
Hi all. This plug has been working great for years, but I see today the results have all vanished and when I try to run a test I get an error. Screen-shots attached. I have tried removing and re-installing the plugin. Anyone know what this might be? Edited June 28, 2020 by page3 Quote Link to comment

However, running speedtest-cli through the terminal is still fine. Edited June 29, 2020 by cinereus Quote Link to comment

You can just remove it, it is the history of speedtest. It will create new one. Quote Link to comment
cinereus
Still not working for me at all even after a reinstall: Meanwhile speedtest-cli works perfectly Quote Link to comment
sonic6
Does someone get Speedtest work with Custom Tab? And the Charts disappeared a few weeks ago... the normal result image works, but the chart does not. Edited August 14, 2020 by sonic6 Quote Link to comment
mmz06
Hi team, Same issue here, suddenly the accuracy of the measurement went down by using this tool. It seems Ookla Speedtest changed their protocol, in an unofficial undocumented fashion, and once the server you are used to connect for proximity reason is updated, it starts to provide these low numbers. It still unclear to me what is the protocol they use, and why it seems to be impacting also speedtest done from my web browsers (Safari, firefox, and chrome), but works well with speedtest app or cli app. It's time to adapt. I went to use "speedtest-tracker". It's an unraid docker app, and works perfectly well for me. henryw3
Hey @sonic6, I'm the dev of speedtest-tracker. I don't run mine on my unraid server, but haven't had anyone else create an issue or anything with this bug. You don't have any logs or anything I could look at to figure out why it was playing up do you? Quote Link to comment

I had to go into Settings -> Nerdpack and update a few packages. I think it was libffi that was the problem. Thanks for this quick fix. I set speedtest to run at 0300 every night. Just noticed it was not working. This is why this forum/unRAID is the best. Quote Link to comment

Hi @lovswr, I would suggest you to use another time like 3:12 or 3:17 AM, as round times are generally used by many people for automated speedtests, so you generally have less relevant results due to the Speedtest Server actual load you are connecting to. My 2 cents. 1 1 Quote Link to comment
sonic6
so @henryw3 here i am again. speedtest-tracker works fine for 3 weeks and today, i'm unable to access the webpage with 504 Gateway Time-out. What do you need for informations? Quote Link to comment
henryw3
There anything not expected in the docker logs? And could you send through /config/www/storage/logs/laravel.log Quote Link to comment

If you're using it to point to a plugin then the custom tab will be outdated if the plugin gets an update. To bring then back into sync you have to either remove and readd the tab or reboot the server Quote Link to comment
HybridNoodle
Anyone else outside of the US have an issue happen where it will only provide US testing servers? I used to have a bunch of options for Toronto (~45 KM away) and now the closest one it offers is the TWC server in Syracuse (~230 KM away). Removed the app and reinstalled with the same result. wayner
I just ran a manual test and it used Teksavvy in the 6ix. My daily auotmated test are using Bell Mobility or Bell Canada in North York and Toronto, respectively. Quote Link to comment

I’ve been having terrible problems with my home broadband (aka it’s been down 5 weeks!) and is flaky when it worked. I’ve therefore been trying a 4G router (and vpn to get around CGNAT) and your app has been crucial in determining if this was a valid solution. BTW as a Zend Framework/PHP/JavaScript/JQuery developer I’m intrigued by Laravel/React so your app looks an interesting one to peek at Quote Link to comment
henryw3
Cheers mate, that's good to hear. The laravel stuff is sound imo, but I think the react bit is pretty messy so maybe don't look to closely at that haha Quote Link to comment
