Sorry, the old backups are not compatible with the new plugin and therefore not available for restore. If you need something unpack it by yourself. After some time you can discard they.

Yes, that's a reasonable thing on the first run, but on subsequent runs it's just frustrating because you've already examined it and decided (against the clear advice of the plugin) to continue doing it anyway. A third option has occurred to me: perhaps have a button to suppress a particular warning, like Fix Common Problems does.

The 100% Unraid way. And thus said, I dont get why it does not work sometimes. The Unraid way calls the Docker API. And docker itself returns a failure here. I catch this and try it via "docker stop xxx" which seems to work then. The docker API does not tell me whats the problem. You could check the /var/log/docker.log for infos or check the Unraids log terminal if any messages appeared for those failures.

Thanks. I'll take that up with Unraid if I can't figure it out.

Hopefully there's a simple answer to this question.  I run both Appdata Backup and Parity Check Tuning.  My Parity Check runs once a month and I've set up Parity Check Tuning to split that into chunks so that it only runs between 1am and 9am each day until finished.  It's also set to pause when Appdata Backup is running, which happens between 4am and 5am (approx).  I've written a short script to resume Parity Check once Appdata Backup concludes and it runs fine but I get an error in the logs saying that the script did not return 0.  I think I've set the script up to do that but it doesn't seem to work.  Have I got something wrong here?

parity.check resume
exit 0

 

I'm relatively new to Linux so I've probably just got something wrong with the exit code here.

Thanks.  I moved over from the Community Applications for app data backup and thought that backup would end up there.  I know, I know....

 

Went through the settings more carefully,  Setup a new Share for the new plugin with proper permissions (for security), emptied the old Community Apps share and the 'ab_20231005_0211002' Share so they could be deleted.  Ran a manual backup and things worked properly.

Since you even get this notification when notifications are disabled I would definitely prefer an option to disable the success notification. I first thought this was a bug. I also only want notifications when something goes wrong. Everything else can be found in the sys log.

I switch it to info level but leave it there. You are right, if the user searches for a reason for an unwanted behavior, he reads the log and would notice it anyway.

Your script looks fine to me. Please look inside the debug log (or submit it), it holds the actual reurned code

The backup file operations are working on a higher level (filesystem). I dont have any option to set something related to network transfers.

It doesn't cause any issues/flood, I just thought that "Errors only" would not send any other notification; I am a "no news is good news" type of person. 

 

 

I also have this issue. I have "Notification Settings" set to "Errors Only" but I am getting a daily e-mail about successes.

If this new final message could honour the "Notification Settings" I think it would be a great improvement, thank you!

Having issues with backing up flash drive...

 

Just setup appdata.backup and next morning my Unraid was not available anymore. SSH/HTTPS ports closed. After reboot, no logs were found. Decided to start it manually... everything went ok till step of backing up flash drive. That step clears log in the user interface with an error about trouble communicating with backend (because Unraid UI is killed).

Using KVM last error output was:  

exit status 135 from user root php /usr/local/emhttp/plugins/appdata.backup/scripts/backup.php...

 

Not sure where to go from here. Checked it without backing flash drive and everything runs smoothly.

Could we get an option to link container shutdowns?  For example, tdarr and tdarr_node being shut down and backed up together?  If one or the other writes to to a log file (they share a directory) during a backup, verification will fail.  You can *sometimes* work around this as posted previously by only enabling one of the backups to take these folders into consideration, but that can't fully prevent the issue from occurring, as the online container could still write to those areas during the backup.  It would be useful if I could specify that when shutting down container X, also shut down container Y, before backing up and restarting the containers.

Of course, selecting the option to shut down all containers at once is a workaround, but not one that is probably desirable since the downtime will be significantly higher.

Wow. Just found out my appdata has not backed up for 6+ months. Not great!

I thought I have done that. I installed Appdata Backup 2.5 and I still get the error I posted above. Still not working.
