Error: Detected non-empty blocksets with no associated blocks!

Anyone else get this error? It happens with one of my backups which runs fine the first couple of times but inevitably gives me this error after a couple days. I see others getting this error on their forums but no fix. Does anyone here have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance,

Ryan.

I got the same thing with a fresh backup (2.3TB to my backup unraid server). I'm so sick of Duplicati. I've tried to run it for a long time now (more than a year off and on) and it just doesn't work for me. I give up.

EDIT:

Problem resolved.

I waited several days, tried a reinstall, and it came in clean this time.  Also, I had another install on another Unraid Box which gave me verification of the path settings that I used previously (yay for redundancy).

Reinstall, duplicate settings, bazinga, back up and running.  Did a test restore to verify, and was able to get the file back from my offsite backup.  Looks like it originally died February 14th, which coincides with me doing a large file transfer, which filled up Cache and robbed storage from my VMs and Dockers (also on cache drive) and caused all sorts of mayhem.

Hi all.  Something odd here.  My Duplicati Docker install disappeared from Apps.  When I do a search and attempt to reinstall the app, it comes up with zero configuration options in the template.  It's basically a blank container template without even the icon.  I can see that my Apps folders still has my Duplicati files in it.

Any thoughts/suggestions?

Hi all...

I'm getting 16 bytes through put backing up to a usb 3 drive and no where near 640 MBps.

I have have made /mnt/disks available so I could navigate to the drive.

Every thing else is now running spot on with low latency and I have even added a dedicated sata card, added swap and moved app data to a new cache drive I have installed.

I'm not sure where to go now with this.

Thanks in advance

Terran

I managed to fix this error. It seems the error occurs because I was backing up the Duplicati Temp folder. I have since removed it from the backup and has been working for 8 days now with no error.

I've been using this container for a few weeks and was until recently having no issues. Please note, I've reverse proxyied this container using LetsEncrypt.

After a recent update (on 4/3/19 [?; not sure on the exact date]; although that's when I ran update not necessarily when the update was released), I noticed this container is giving me issues.

In particular, after I navigate to https://myduplicati.mydomain.xyz, I enter the login password, and then am greeted by a message reading "The connection to the server is lost, attempting again". Not sure what I might have done to break this. I haven't really fiddled with Duplicati since my initial setup went properly.

I've attached my docker run command below and will be glad to furnish any other logs upon request.

Duplicati Docker Run Command.PNG

Is there a way to simply roll back the update to an earlier version of the container to see if that caused any issues?

Yes add a tag to linuxserver/duplicati from the list here.

Like so

Thanks!

That said, turns out my issue was entirely to do with a misconfigured duplicati.subdomain.conf file. Not sure how I managed to mess that one up after having properly configured it before...

Still, all's well that ends well

Where do I look to figure out what is going wrong?

I installed the docker on Saturday, created a backup job of my Audiobooks folder to an smb mounted share on another unraid server on the same network (eventually to be moved to dad's house once I get it working). After about 12 hrs of running this job it stopped creating backup files. I tried to restart the docker but it hung until after 5hrs I pushed the power button for 5sec unclean shutdown of unraid. After restarting, parity check clean, reinstalled the duplicati docker and tried to run the back up again. It ran for 12 hrs then stopped at 7am this morning. This time though I have not tried to stop/modify/etc the docker.  The duplicati GUI keeps trying to refresh, alternating between "Connection Lost. Connecting to server..." and "Connection to the server lost, retrying again in xxx sec"

I can open a console into the docker and run ps command (I don't know many more) this seems to respond well.  So what command can I run to get good info?

I had the UI on the verbose log but that just lists the source files as they are being scanned.

I downloaded DB Browser for SQLite and made a copy of the sqlite files changed chmod and found some 'log' entries in the .sqlite files but I don't recognize the values for the time/date or what info is being conveyed in the error logs in the sqlite file.  Anyone know what to look for in the db to locate the problem?

The Metadata entry in the sqlite db says LastErrorDate    20190415T030252Z  LastErrorMessage    Thread was being aborted.   -- ah that doesn't seem very helpful.

The ErrorLog entry in sqlite says

I suspect the only entry in the ErrorLog that applies is the last one

1	Error in worker	System.Threading.ThreadAbortException: Thread was being aborted.
  at Duplicati.Server.Runner.Run (Duplicati.Server.Runner+IRunnerData data, System.Boolean fromQueue) [0x0062b] in <fe28905ee30b422e8d475f1cfdb85515>:0

When I reinstalled the docker yesterday it seemed to take a while to clear through some old/bad repair commands before it started scanning and trying to pick up the previously started Audiobooks folder backup.  So I think those first seven entries in the ErrorLog relate to an old command queue after the restart.

Also note; When the backup was running, I thought it was going VERY slow.

The first time it ran 10hrs 30 min before freezing.  It created 7,440 files total 179 Gb ~5.09 Mbps

The second time it ran 6 hrs 2 min before stopping, it created 1949 files total 47.7 Gb ~2.35 Mbps

How can I kill this docker?

docker kill duplicati   (doesn't do anything, just waits hours for me to ^C)

htop then filter 'duplicati' shows one PID 4755... kill 4755 returns to prompt, doesn't seem to do anything.

Not sure if this is the correct place to ask, but can I use duplicati to copy the contents of my appdata folder to another unraid server?

Hey, I want to start using duplicati to backup my main unraid to my backup unraid to be placed off-site in the future. Right now I am trying to get it working locally first but I'm not successful. I followed spaceinvader's tutorial which means connecting the backupserver as a SMB share on my main server and copy there. But after I had made the first backup in duplicati it gave me like 220 warnings. So I tried to repair the database but it was unsuccessful and gave me even more warnings. I decided to delete and repair the database and now it's stuck on "recreating database" for over 24h, then I stopped the docker and tried again and now it gets stuck on the same place. I don't know if it's working on a file which is open or something like that, I can't tell from the logs. Anyone that can help me out?

I decided to reinstall the docker and delete the backup completely, now it get stuck after about 30 minutes and my CPU 2 is working 100% and duplicati freezes...

It happened to me and other people in this thread.

My suggestion is to NOT backup via a SMB share, but via FTP, NextCloud or another method.   You could setup NextCloud in your backup Unraid, for example.

Thanks for reply, ok. I have nextcloud running on my main server working good, for the sake of it I will try to go with FTP this time on the backup machine.

Hi,

I have problems getting duplicati to run. Setup is fine, destination is a smb share from a Nas. I backing up a vdisk (not running) to this destination. It runs to about 10%, then it stops. At that point I am able to move around inside the duplicati WebGui. Ending the duplicati WebGui browser tap, it is not possible to reconnect (from the duplicati docker). Restarting or stopping the duplicati docker is not possible. The only way to end the duplicati docker is to restart the server. Then I am able to start and connect to duplicati. Starting the backup job the % counts up to where it first stopped, and there it hangs again. When hanging one processor thread is running constant at 100%.

Some pics and logs are attached.

Hoping for some good advices.

Edit: Restart of the server from unRain WebGui is not working after the duplicati job run. Graceful shutdown from IPMI not working, only hard shut down.

Same issue described on the post right before yours.

Thanks. Is it the same with NFS shares as well?

I've just installed Duplicati (running 2.0.4.5_beta_2018-11-28) and have noticed that the throttle and pause options don't seem to actually do anything - my network speed doesn't slow or stop appropriately. Am I missing something? Do I need to change my network type in the docker container to something other than bridge to be able to control this or does it just not work?

Hi guys so I set up duplicati on my primary server and am backing up to a second server both unRAID of course and it works but I'm a little confused by the behaviour, the primary NAS shows the unassigned device path to my Backup share on the backup NAS but shows as being empty, the backup NAS disk 1 shows 2TB and disk 2 shows 300+GB disk one does not show any files but disk 2 does can someone point me to an explanation of this and while I got your ear is it really worth encrypting movie files just don't see an advantage or am I missing something?

Hope I didn't confuse the crap outta ya!

Started running into a problem with this app two weeks ago.

It had been running fine, but now as the program runs a back up I lose connection.

It cannot be stopped and all back ups claim to be running but they are not.

The file or files it does deposit are corrupt.

Not sure if anyone is having this issue.

I like the program, but it may be time to move on to something else.

Thanks, I have resolved the problem, I had to delete the container and the persisted files on unraid and reset it up
