I love the variety of tasks Unraid can accomplish. It really is a do it all kind of software!

I would love to see more youtube tutorial videos for odd things like MineOS or Rust servers. I've dug around a bit there isn't much documentation for new users regarding that sort of info. It's possible I just didn't look in the right place though! I'm about halfway through my trial currently and so far liking it, a bit complex, but with enough googling anything is possible.

What i like:

i love the stability of Unraid and the ease to set it up.

What could be added:

- intergrate CA into unraid itself so it isnt community depent anymore

- an step by step tutorial which explains every aspect of Unraid (which you can opt out from)

Thanks!

One thing I like the most about Unraid is how easy it is to get things up and running with help of this forum!

What I wish to see in 2020 is non-root users and user access control for webUI!

Best part of Unraid is the community.

I would like to see better support for VMs like taking snapshots and making it easy to do passthrough.

I love its flexibility. Currently I have two computers with unraid, one as a workstation and the other as NAS.

I'd like to see ability to group disks into separate arrays.

The Unraid forum is about to hit a major milestone: 100,000 members! As of Christmas time, 2019, we're sitting at approximately 99,000 forum members. To commemorate this awesome community achievement, let's do another giveaway!

What's at stake?

  • 90 winners will receive limited-edition Unraid case badges! These 2x2 inch domed, polyurethane server badges will look great on your own home lab (badges not for sale, sorry)!
  • 9 winners will receive an Unraid case badge AND a $25 gift card to the Unraid merch store.
  • 1 Grand Prize Winner: receives a case badge, a $25 gift card AND an Unraid pro license! Pretty sweet huh!?

See the linked blog post for pics and additional info!

How to Enter:

Simply tell us:

  • one thing you like most about Unraid

and

  • one thing you'd like to see added to the OS in 2020

That's it! Winners will be drawn at random from the forum entrants here.

At our current rate, we will likely hit 100,000 members late January or early February 2020. Follow the Unraid twitter account for periodic forum # updates!

Entries will close as soon as we hit 100,000 forum members so don't delay in entering! Good luck.

1. The one thing I like most about Unraid is the UI, as a beginner with Unraid it was extremely easy for me to get started and now that I have used it for a few months I really enjoy how simple it is to do most things such as build VM's and Docker containers. The most useful thing I have found so far is the community though, they help out a ton.

2. One thing I would like to see added to the OS in 2020 is the ability to set up Snapshots so if say a picture was accidentally deleted on a share It would be easily recoverable, also snapshots for VM's and Docker containers, but it would also be nice to have native ZFS

Install & upkeep is a breeze. Reuse existing hardware. What's not to like!

I would like more internationalisation support in 2020.

I love how easy it was to learn and setup, as well as the heterogeneous disk options

I'd like to see more tutorials on plugins and what you can achieve with them in the official wiki

I love the fact that it is the most stable OS I have ever used. Previous OS server attempts resulted in lost data and disc failures.

I'd like to have one touch presets for disc upgrades.👍

I love the Community that Lime-Tech has fostered around UnRaid.

I'm hoping to see Multiple Cache Pools as an option.  I would love to have one Cache Pool used for File Transfers while another Cache Pool can be used for Docker/App Data/VM Disks/etc.

I like the ease of pass-through with the all the secret sauce

I have two nice to haves:

1. Id like zfs to be an option so it can be more easily monitored and send alerts

2. someway to allow changes in the xml for a vm to survive a GUI edit

I like the home-user-friendly array approach.
It's definitely way more effective to repurpose old hdds, which vary often in size.
AND
I really like the community supporting this project.

I think some kind of notification service would be nice. (via email, Signal, Telegram, etc.)
To receive a message from the server itself is way more convenient than regularly checking the servers website.

Last time I checked there is Settings - Notification Settings for that...

I really like the ease of use, the web gui is intuitive for Unraid noobs like myself. 👍

What I would like to see built in, solid upnp/dlna functionality for those of us that use network audio streamers.

Been using Unraid for a long time and what I like most is it's versatility.  When I first started, it was basically just used for storage.  But now you can use it for so much more with dockers and VMs.

One thing that would be nice is a native backup solution.  Whether it be off site, or to another server.

So easy to setup and so much functionality !! Thanks !!

Just rebuilt my system and found I was after more of a Docker/VM machine rather than just a NAS, so I think I am a +1 for cache pools.

What I love:

The simplicity of use.  After managing servers all day for work it is nice to have the simple interface at home.

What I'd like to see in 2020:

High availability via multiple servers.

I’ve been using unraid now for almost 7-8 months.

I like how you can take common pc components and make it into a powerful NAS.

I would like snapshotting of docker containers and vms. This way we can revert if anything breaks.
